darn it, my stomach hurts
Prilosec is over the counter...it is a little expensive. Prilosec and protonix (prescription only) are both PPI's....proton pump inhibitors. I am a nurse, but I worked OB and now case management.....so I appologize I am NOT a GI expert! I also don't want to be handing out medical advice, but from my personal experience and those in my family that use it, the PPI's seem to work better.
Pepcid is ok, but I don't think it corrected anything, it just seemed like a bandaid for me----no better than taking a tums.
Anxious to hear how you make out!
Take Care,
Karen

Hi Kelly,
I started having the same problem (along with gas) a few months ago. I'm a year out as of February 18th and have loss 104lbs. It was a BM back up and I needed a good laxative LOL. My doctor put me on Devrom for the gas pain and I had to go to soft foods for a week. I hope this helps but I would go to the doctor. If I lived in your area, I would give you a ride :) Thank-you for all of the help you give (everyone) on this site. Your have been a blessing in my life!
Blessings to you!!!!
