Kelly.....first of all, just wanted to say how much I appreciate your participation on this site.  You are a wonderful honest and helpful contributer.  Your posts have helped me immensely.
As far as GI concerns:  I was having some GI issues prior my surgery on March 9th and was referred to a gastroenterologist.  I ended up having egd, etc. within a week.
I sure hope you are ok.  In the past, we have been recommended to take prilosec and I had a prescription for protonix.  Pepcid never did much for me in the past several years.  Thank God, since my surgery on Feb. 9th, my heartburn is GONE!!!
Good Luck and hope you get everything evaluated and improved soon!
Take Care....
Looking forward to hearing how you are doing.
Will be thinking of you!

Prilosec is available OTC, isn't it?  Do you think that's better than Pepcid?  I have no clue what the difference is.

Yes, it's available OTC. The generic is omeprazole. It basically is an acid blocker while pepcid reduces acid. I guess some people respond better to one or the other. That is why my daughter's DR had her do both. If one didn't fix it the other would.

Ugh.  I would try some Pepcid or something and then, if that doesn't help, see the doctor ASAP.  Keeping my fingers crossed...

I think I'm gonna try that and if it's still bothering me in a couple weeks, I'll see my PCP.  If it gets worse, I'll see her sooner than that.  Right now it's to the point of being really bothersome but it's not painful enough to need to go to the ER or anything like that.

Did this start before the cow or after?      Seriously take care of yourself.   You deserve  your time and attention too.

Way after.  And it doesn't hurt after I drink milk.  Don't blame my cow!

Ah you know I was just kidding about your cow.  I think that is way to cool.  But I did mean it when I said to take care of yourself.  You mean way too much to so many people and we all want you feeling 1000 %%%%!

Another thought, if it is happening with only some foods, are you tracking your food intake? And what if you only eat the foods that it doesn't happen with for a week...... that might help too.

It doesn't seem related to what I eat.  It happens with all kinds of things, but sometimes I will eat something and it's fine and then the next day I eat it and my stomach hurts.
