darn it, my stomach hurts

I am starting to get a little worried.  I really hope I don't have an ulcer or something like that.  Frequently, although not always, my stomach hurts after I eat.  It's just now starting to feel better after eating lunch almost five hours ago (which is a long time to go between meals for me) and now I'm starting to feel hungry again but I kind of don't want to eat because it will probably just make my stomach hurt again.  I did a protein shake for breakfast and I'm thinking of another one for dinner.  For a while I was thinking my stomach was just bothering me due to stress but it's been going on for at least a couple weeks now and I'm thinking there might actually be something wrong.

Kelly,

I forget who it was, but a few days ago, someone posted a dire warning. She has cancer in her pouch and warned that we should not wait long to have persistent discomfort checked out. And, I say "DITTO"!!!

I'm sure we shouldn't wait too long.  It's not a good time right now for me to have to get a bunch of tests done.  I can make an appointment to see my PCP, but I'm thinking she'd need to order some tests or refer me to a gastroenterologist, and it's a really bad time to do that.

Kelly, I'm sorry you're hurting!

Is there ever a bad time to look after one's health? Please get it checked out!

Not exactly a bad time to look after one's health... but a bad time to need an endoscopy or similar test, since one cannot drive oneself, when one's partner just started a new job and absolutely cannot take a day off, and a bad time to start racking up medical bills, when one's partner just started a new job that pays considerably less than his old job.

I realize people are anatomically different after surgery, but since your symptoms are similar to my 16 year old daughter, I just wanted to share what recently happened to her. She was on some strong pain meds from breaking her collarbone and she started having stomach discomfort when she ate or when she was extremely hungry. It didn't happen every time just like you said. I was thinking she might have an ulcer so I brought her in to the PCP and our Dr said she had gastritis which basically means her stomach lining was inflamed and irritated. She put her on Pepcid AC 20 mg before breakfast and lunch, and omeprazole 20 mg before dinner. It took about 2 weeks but she is fine now. I would never suggest you not see your DR, but if you are not going to go then you could try this for a week and see if it helps. Just a suggestion! Good luck,  see your doc if you can.

I was actually considering getting some pepcid or something like that to see if that helps.
