The Biggest Loser Thread

I know you were all just sitting around PINING away for my opinions on this week’s Biggest Loser, right?

(Chirp…chirp…)

Yeah. Thought that was the case.

Anyhoo. I’m bummed! I must say the producers pulled off a fake-me-out on your girl Nik cuz looking at the amount of time left in the show and the last weigh-in I thought for sure Chism had made his goal and nobody was going home. SHOCKER!

Of all the players, he was the one I most looked forward to seeing go through makeover week (him and…what’s her name…the one who baked cookies with her family when she went home…her hair is horrid…). Dammit, I wanted to see Chism ditch the Partridge Family hairdon’t and start looking like the hottie I believe he is under that weight and boyish styling. I guess we’ll have to wait for the finale.

I must say, though, I was surprised by both his AND his father’s weight losses. I know they showed him playing with his band and it was obvious him and his girlfriend spent a good deal of time canoodling, but seriously??? Chism’s losses weren’t close to on par with his average weekly losses (he basically lost 5.5 lbs. a week since they were gone OVER two weeks) and his dad didn’t come anywhere close to the other men on the ranch.

Which seems fitting, to me, since dad’s initial impression of Adrian was that he should have lost more weight for a big guy. I bet those are tough words to swallow when directed at you, huh, papi?

Was anyone else but me EXTREMELY upset that Conda reached her goal? Except now I dislike Conda for making me dislike her. It makes me feel like a bad person and I don’t like that! I do somewhat “get" her now though. She seems like one of those simpering types who is cute enough and spreads girl gossip about anyone who smiles too long at her boyfriend. Yep, that’s here!

Kim. Poor child. Between her and Conda as the single moms, I can identify more closely with Kim. I get where she was coming from about the time constraints and I saw that she genuinely did feel regretful of not finding balance AND frightened of going back into that situation before she’d learned to deal with it. I’m glad SHE did not go home.

So…I think next week is the big “walk out." I think I get it a bit more now. If they were made to give up their trainers AND told an old contestant was coming back all within the same week…yeah, I can understand being just a wee bit pissed about that. TBL shoulda known better.

Can’t wait to see how it all shakes out! Despite the drama, this season has kept me riveted.

Yes!  I was soooo upset to see him go.  BUT his 3 week loss really sucked.  As did his dad's.  Makes me wonder about his support at home and how well he really will do...  He was a favorite.  But he really manned up and left in a very positive way I think.

Conda - *growl*.  I love to hate her.  She's is so screwed up but is SUCH an instigator.  I WANT her to fail and leave, but I want her to stay for entertainment... I'm torn.  I know that wishing failure on her is not like me, but I think she needs to be taken down about 6 or 7 pegs.

I want Mrs. Santa to go through makeover week.  She looks so young despite her silver/gray hair.  I want them to sexy her up and give ol Santa something to look at.

Was anyone else shocked by the state of their house?  Was it damaged by something or is that just how it is?  I know the roof was bad, but was that caused by an act of nature or just lack of upkeep?  The interior was so messed up from the bad roof too!

I am disappointed overall by this season weightloss wise.  Usually you have a clear "leader" at this point, and lots of people breaking previous house records and the 100 pound mark.  Their numbers are significantly lower this season and I really think it's because they all are feeding into the drama and the attitude rather than the real reason they are there.

I agree about Mrs. Claus.  She is really coming into her own, and could look so much younger!  I told my DH they are going to color that hair!

I was saddened by the state of their home and wanted her to win the $10k.  Maybe some local contractor will take pity on them and help them out.  I don't think it was damaged....I think it is just lack of funds for upkeep.

OMG I wish I could watch the show with you!!  I too do not like Conda-she is messy and can't be trusted.  She is ugly on the inside.  Chism didn't do what he was supposed to do.  Period.  I like the kid, and hope he is successful at home.  But....as big as he is, he should've easily lost twice what he did.

I'm kind of torn this season....these contestants seem to be the "bottom of the barrel".  EVERYTHING is an excuse and DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA.  If you are REALLY there to "change your life" then shut the hell up and do what you need to do-regardless of who comes and goes, and who trains you.

I so need to see "cookie girl" get a makeover too!  I was embarrassed for her in that outfit, bad hair and those shoes..........REALLY??

It is nice seeing the lightbulb come on for them, one by one.  Some are finally starting to "get it" but not nearly as fast as contestants from other seasons.

I think my fave at the moment is the horseback riding girl.  She is beautiful inside and out.

Oh the outfit!  I was like NO!  NO!  NO!  NO!  The shoes could have held their own with a completely different outfit.  Some jeans maybe.

And I like the horse rider too.  And I like the weight lifter too.  Oh I can't remember names right now and that's so not like me this far into the season.

Do you think they purposefully chose people like this this season?  It's so off the mark for them...

Yes, I do.  It is the season of "no excuses"....and I guess they found folks that had a million excuses for why they couldn't lose....which worries me about when they get home for good....will all the excuses come back out?  Or will they enforce their new lifestyle on the families?

I think every family has to change to a degree when one of the adult family members changes.  There has to be a middle ground....where some of your new lifestyle is embraced by all and some of their favorite things that don't fit your lifestyle remain.  No one can "go back to the way it was" and still be successful.

And I usually know names by now too....the only one I can remember is Conda and it isn't for a good reason!

Can't wait to see what happens next week....and you, Nik and I need a BL viewing party (with wine and snacks!)

WHY oh WHY oh WHY is Conda still on the show?!?!?!  I don't love to hate her....I just plain ole hate her.   She is SUCH a negative force in the house and on the show this season....and I can't for the LIFE of me figure out why these GROWN people have not figured her out and voted her off the ranch.  It's almost like they are afraid of her turning her wrath on them now that Adrian and his sister are gone so they stay on her good side.  I just want to shake all of them a few good times to wake them up.

I agree with almosteverything you said except for papa - he has very little left to lose so that makes it that much harder to lose.  He is only 215 pounds, more online with the girls weights not the men;s weights.
