I also asked for the drug you mentioned and my Dr said no too. I haven't had any issues yet, but I already had a few gall stones before surgery so I'm just kinda waiting for it to happen. I understand your reasons on why you don't want to get the surgery but it really should be healed fine by May. I've had a few relatives have theirs removed and they were fine in a week. I don't think blood clots would be an issue 2 months later. Get it done asap and you'll be good to go in May.
I hope you can find a way to get it done then you won't ever have to worry about it again.
