Protein Bar as meals
I'd go way over my carb-budget with bars 3x/day. Plus, the sugar alcohols make me way gassy! I think there'd be better food choices... like just cheese sticks!

I did it pre-op .. it was an easy way to make sure I got everything in.
Post-op, I have two a day usually - one for an afternoon snack and another one for either lunch or an evening snack. They're convenient, and they pack a reasonable amount of protein for the calories.
To me, calories are calories - i average around 200 calories for lunch anyway, and since I usually do the Oh Yeah or Quest bars - the fat and carb amounts aren't horrible for my normal meals.
For some reason it doesn't take me long to eat them - total staple![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/smile.gif)

if this is your plan... scratch it. Where are you going to get your other nutrients? What are you going to do with cravings? The point of surgery is to get away from so much legality. Just follow the plan.
If I am completely out of line and this is NOT what you have in mind... oops![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/smile.gif)
I used to love to have a Quest protein bar once a day, but now they don't agree with me for some reason *shrug*

I supplement one meal per day with a protein bar. The ones I eat are Premier Protein (you can get them for about $14 for 15 bars at Sam's Club or about $1.90/ea at Wal-Mart). They have 3 flavors and are very filling, plus they have 30 grams or protein and are under 300 calories.
