CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHEN I WILL START FEELING MYSELF AGAIN? I FEEL SO WORE OUT I DONT HAVE ANY ENERGY AT ALL IT SEEMS . I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ONE THAT CAN HOP RIGHT BACK INTO WORK EVEN AFTER I HAD MY LAPBAND SURGERY IN 2009 I WAS GOING FULL SPEED AND BACK TO WORK IN 2 DAYS. THIS SURGERY I KNOW WAS A BIGGER SURGERY WITH THEM TAKEN OUT THE LAP BAND AND DOING RYN. I HAVE BEEN GETTING 64 OZ OF WATER AND 75 MG OF PROTEIN JUST LIKE DR. HAS SAID TO .  SO CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ANY ENCOURAGEMENT THIS WILL NOT LAST MUCH LONGER ? BUT ON THE GOOD SIDE I HAVE LOST 19 POUNDS THIS WEEK LOL..

I'm not sure where you are in your journey, but you had major surgery!  The body needs to take time to heal.  The first 6 weeks, though I was back to work, were very tiring.  Every week has gotten better and better.  I still have some sleepy weeks, but those are related to doing to much and I would have probably been more tired 50 pounds heavier!

This is a journey!  Let yourself heal, keep up the water and protein and try to move.  Moving tends to give us more energy if we don't over do it!

I was exhausted for the first 6-8 weeks after surgery.  I too was getting my fluids and protein but still SO tired.  I went back to work at 3 weeks post-op and I would get home from work at 5:30pm, eat a little something and go to bed.  Even a trip to the mall was enough to utterly exhaust me.  After 2 months, I started feeling a little better and by about 3.5-4 months post-op, I was really feeling like myself again.  give yourself time!  It's a big change and your body is trying to function and heal off of very little calories.   good luck!

I returned to work after a week and a half but honestly I didn't feel like myself until about 7 to 8 weeks. I really noticed a turning point at 8 weeks with more energy and things getting so much easier. Food goes down better, I'm exercising more, sleeping less, and enjoying things again. Hang in there. It absolutely gets better!

I am so happy to read this and to know that I am not alone! I had my surgery on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 and I returned to work today. I feel like I have been hit by a ton of bricks! I'm glad to know it's not just me.

I had to go to work six days' post-op, and it was way too much.  Seven days' post-op, I went in for two hours, and got totally freaked out.  Today, I almost felt normal, except for really wanting to eat the world. I'm working at home until Wednesday.

You are not alone.

I had surgery on the 22nd. I too had my band removed, and converted to RNY. I'm still exhausted but it's getting better. I don't want to over do it.
