Whatever you do, don't give up! I used to work with a wonderful lady who was diagnosed with stage 4 rectal cancer and also not given much hope by her doctors. It's been over 10 years now and although she has a permanent colostemy, she is alive and well! Lots of prayers, hope, & well wishes will be heading your way from OH. Let us know how things are going and we will be here to support you.

I can't imagine the fear and anguish you are going through right now. Has anyone told you about www.caringbridge.org? It's a site for people with cancer or other serious illnesses to reach out to others with the same or similar conditions and also for family, friends, and strangers to offer you support and encouragement as you battle this cancer. I have seen it be a big help to people going through what you are now going through.

Remember we are here and will help in any way we can- you are not alone!

Hugs,
Rhonda

I'm so terribly sorry.  Please know I am sending out positive, healing thoughts.  I hope you will find the strength and courage to fight this.  Find a good doctor that you trust and who will fight with you.  God bless you.

Sorry to hear this.  Just wondering how they found the problem?  Is this your pouch or your old stomach?  If it's the old stomach would they do exploratory surgery??  Will they remove the old stomach?  I know it's a sensitive issue, but I'm sure many would like to know for further reference.

This was found in my pouch and had spread to my There are also two masses that are not attached to anything.  They found it because I went to my doctor for some discomfort I was having, I thought I have gal stones or something.  Several procedures later here I am. Dropping weight like a brick.

So sorry to hear this, will be saying prayers for you as well as your family!
I am curious if they think that this is anyway related to surgery?
I am hoping that you have some peace, and you can get some help!

I'm sorry to hear this.
I hope you find the help you need.
I just found out that Melanoma (my cancer of choice) spread to my pouch.
I've had ulcers and when I had my last endoscopy they found that my pouch has pigmented areas so they did a biopsy.
The results were metastatic melanoma stage IV.
Later this week I will learn to give myself shots & start on Interferon.
For now I'm still alive and so are you.
Don't give up.

Thanks Cle.  It's been a long time brother, but I still remember the good times we had. Kick the **** out of this cancer. If anyone can do it, it's you.
