Can we take gummy vitamins?

Okay, I can deal with taking 6 of them...and I'm right that they have to be staggered between my other vitamins, right?  Something in there messes with calcium absorbtion...if I recall correctly, iron?

Tax refund is on the way, and I'm planning on bulk buying some vitamins so when money gets tight again, I don't have to worry about that.  It hasn't happened yet, but my hubby lives on the edge of getting laid off every other week it seems, and he always worries we won't have the money for my protein or vitamins.  If I'm gonna buy calcium, what would you recommend?  I know you have mentioned a chewable kind, but I remember them being fairly pricey.

I'm picking your brain...tell me when to shut up!

If you want affordable calcium, I recommend generic calcium citrate, wherever you can find it on sale.  Stores often have buy one get one free sales.

If you want chewable calcium, you probably have to order online and it will be much more costly.  Especially if you want the really yummy stuff.  Bariatric Advantage has candy-like caramel chewy calcium citrate and Celebrate has chocolate and lemon Calcet creamy bites, and they are lovely, but not cheap at all.  I buy those once in a while, kind of like a treat, but can't afford to use them all the time.  Plus those calories can add up.

And it's the calcium that blocks the absorption of iron.

Yay I'm learning...I at least knew I couldn't take the iron at the same time as the calcium :~)

I'll probably just stick to the pills then.  The non-promo price is $10.99 for 400 pills, and I've not seen it cheaper yet.  I'm a drugstore.com junkie, so that's where I tend to buy, and since I spend so much damn money there (okay, it's an addiction really to that website), they are always sending me 50% off stuff and freebies and such, and since it's mostly been vitamins, that's what my freebies and discounts have been for.

Oddly enough, when we were buying nothing but fertility aids and ovulation predictors, they sent us free condoms LoL

Thanks again, Kelly.  You're awesome to answer these questions over and over again.

Haha. My metoprolol caused a block in my anastomoses, my gummy bcomplex and D3 I have no problems with.  Actually, first thing in the morning, I find if I take them and wait 30 min before drinking my tea I dont hurt as much as just going straight to tea or juice.

Seriously though? Don't our pouches still have any stomach acid in them? It should not take 2 days for my pills to dissolve.
