just need to take my iron/vit c and I am all done. I have decided to switch my 2nd multi/pepcid with my iron as the iron has been upsetting my pouch some...now if I take it before bed I dont notice it.

Well I am only a week out. Got both of my multi, and 2 out of my 3 calciums. I can't seem to get the timing right to get them all in. And I hate the taste of my calcium.

What calcium are you using?  You might wanna try Upcal D - it's a powder you can mix in any drink and it has no taste.  I like it.

I'm hoping I can get that here.  I'm trying a liquid Calcium Magnesium Vit D supplement and it is like weak cough syrup.  Two tbsp equal just 250 mg.  Blech!

If I can't get the Upcal D then I'll have to explore something else.

How much Calcium are we to be getting each day?  500 mg or 1000 mg?

I'm doing okay with my twice daily chewable multivitamins and sublingual B12.  I've started to take my chewable iron & c when one of my cats wakes me up in the early morning.

Thanks very much, Kelly. The clerk at the health food store was telling me that the body can only absorb/use 500 mg calcium a day so anything more is simply a waste.

IF that is true is that why we need to take so much because we're malabsorbing we need to take more to compensate? I'm just curious. I'll take whatever is recommended.

Perhaps what the clerk meant was that the body can only absorb about 500 mg calcium AT A TIME.  That's why we need to divide our 1500-2000 mg into three or four doses and take them at least two hours apart.

I think I may have missed a calcium, man my weekend relaxed schedule is not good for anything LOL.  My eating is not as reformed and well my vitamin taking is bad as well.

OH..is there any calcium citrate pills available from like the local drug stores, walmart and the like.  I've been looking and it seems most of them are the wrong type of calcium.  I'm probably going to stick with the wellese for my morning and evening, but I want to be able to take some capsules to work and leave there, just for those days I forget and also for my mid-day dose.

I will order online if I have to but prefer to get local if I can (shipping costs kill me, being I'm in the middle of no where Canada)

Thanks

Gypsy
