What are you eating/doing today? Saturday!

I have a date with the laundromat. Thing I will not miss about this house #1: not having a washer/dryer!!!

S'anyway, doing that, grocery shopping, taking stuff to Goodwill and I think I might take on packing up my kitchen. I'd love to see what are my absolute "must-haves" for survival!

Eats as I know them:

1. GINORMOUS breakfast! 2 egg whites with a pile of veggie hash (made from onions, green peppers, zuchini and yellow squash) with a Laughing Cow Light Wedge and 2 diced slices of turkey bacon in a whole wheat pita pocket. Yummy.

2. (If I ever get hungry again)...I think I might make myself a chocolate dipped banana protein shake.

3. I'm making a classic go-to dinner: Chicken Caesar salad. Instead of croutons I'm trying toasted slivered almonds

4. SNACKS: (liable to be anywhere throughout the day) cottage cheese, maybe a string cheese stick and lots and lots of fluids. I've been really thirsty lately. Not sure why.

Hello,

That all sounds so delicious!!  I had gum surgery yesterday and its back to soft/liquid foods for a week.  Which could be a good thing.  It will bring me back to the start of my WLS and maybe I can loose the add'l 32 pounds to reach my 1st WL goal.   Then I shall set a 10 pound goal per month til I reach where I want to be and feel comfortable with and know I can maintain.  You have inspired me to go out and purchase some more cottage cheese.

Take care,

Deb

At least at the laundromat - you can do multiple loads at one time!   I have sheets and towels to do and it will take all day!

I had delish protein cofee early am and I am just now finishing a toasted sandwhich thin with a tbsp of peanut butter and a small banana!  Delish!   Who knows what the rest of the day will bring!

Sounds like a very busy day!

Today's breakfast was a baby-food cup of my tomato soup/chicken protein mix (yum) and a bottle of water with Special K protein powder.

Lunch will be a chocolate protein shake and more water

And dinner will probably be some cream soup, made with milk and (you guessed it!) more protein powder.

Thrilling, huh? :D

Hey...it's better than what I ate my first week post-op...

Nothing, nothing and nothing. My mom hadda call my surgeon who hadda call and threaten me. I finally relented but then I'd only eat grits or very soft scrambled eggs. Only two foods my pouch liked for a good two weeks.

It's a really weird feeling. I never really felt hungry on a regular basis before the surgery (not until I'd gone all day without eating, anyway) so I'm used to not feeling hungry. But I'm NOT accustomed to being satisfied with so little once I start eating.

Literally, two or three spoonfuls of soup, and I'm done. Craziness. Granted, I go back for more after about 20 minutes, but still.

Oh yeah. That is sort of shocking. In the hospital they gave me green jell-o (lime?) whi*****identally was the only thing I'd eat and I'd only eat about a bite of it. Hell, even my vitamins made me full!

I didn't like that very much but now I must admit some days I miss it. I still have a good deal of restriction so long as I stick to protein but I can eat a LOT more than in those beginning days, of course.

I would love to know exactly what your tomato soup/chicken protein mix is (which soup, how much soup, how much protein powder, water or milk...etc). I have the Unjury chicken soup and it is okay...but would love a yummier way to eat it!

Thanks!!

I just mix one can of soup with enough water/milk to thin it out, and then add a scoop of protein and stir.
