do you think this is stress?

I have been under an incredible amount of stress for the last week or so.  I still have an appetite but everytime I eat my stomach hurts and I get nauseous and wish I hadn't eaten.  Twice I felt like I'd overeaten and ended up throwing up, even though I'd actually eaten less than the one cup of food I typically eat.  I feel fine when I drink protein shakes and am considering just sticking to shakes for a little while.  I don't really feel much like cooking meals anyway.

I'm thinking it must just be stress and I don't want to go to the doctor right now, especially because money is so tight, if I don't have to.  What do you all think?

Sounds like a combination of stress and depression. Is there any activity you can engage in that will lift your spirits? Anyone you can get together with to divert your mind for a little while? Any book, movie, something to take you out of yourself for awhile? I think stress relief is in order, although it is always hard to get motivated when you're in this frame of mind. I am sending lots of positive thoughts your way.

I know exactly how you feel, in fact I think most of us can, since you're stressed your nerves are all worked up and that is most likely why u can't keep food down. Stick to your protein shakes since they feel good and you're not adding more stress with eating.

What helps me is to get out of the house, walk around and do things that I know make me feel better. Deal with what is stressing me out. And of course keep in mind that it will pass same as everything else does. It's the cycle of life, you're going through a bad one but u will get passed same as you have done before.

When we r in a bad place, we tend to close up and feel somewhat hopeless when that is not the case.

Good luck!!

Shakes sound like a good idea. Just treat your body gently for a bit... would talking help you deal with stress? I'm sorry I wasn't in group this week, because it sounds like you're going thru some stuff but feel free to send me an email or message if you wanna talk out your stressors....

Kelly- when I get stressed it alway****s me in the gut- more now after
surgery.  I think stress is the likely culprit.  I've had days when I just
had my nice protein drinks all day because that's what made my
pouch happy. It hasn't lasted for more than 2 consecutive days for
me, but then I eat mushies on a normal day so it has to be fairly
uncomfortable for me to do liquids all day.

Hang in there.  I hope things ease up for you soon.
