Yeast infection in incision. Anyone else been through this?
I am 5 weeks out from breast lift, bra line back lift and, arms...My surgeon covers the incisions with white tape, so I can't see what's going on. Ended up with an awful yeast infection in and around the incisions on my arms. I now have big holes where the yeast ate my skin on both arms. It's been two weeks since the infection started and I'm still dealing with it. My surgeon offered free laser for scars and revision if necessary during my tummy tuck. It's so upsetting because, where the yeast didn't get, the incisions are almost invisible. I feel like it the tape wasn't on there so I could see what was going on I could have caught this much sooner. My boobs and back look great, but I'm so sad and scared about my arms.
Thank you!
Thank you!

I got a yeast infection in my c section scar and i think you would of noticed it if it wasnt for the tape to. I noticed mine because it was red and inflamed wouldnt the doctor let you change the bandges ive never had this kind of surgery but it seems weird he wouldnt let you take them off to clean them. Plus if you would of noticed the redness theres a yeast infection powder for such problems. Im so sorry your having this problem. My scars healed ok with little scarring is it still infected. I would ask him if theres something you can put on it. Good luck with the doctor Loretta.
Two weeks ago she gave me diflucan for 2 days and some powder to rub through the tape. This was a Friday. I could tell it wasnt better and called the office first thing Wednesday morning and spoke to the nurse. She wasn't worried about it and said just wait until Friday for my check up. Friday came and I guess it had gone crazy. She took off the tape and prescribed 5 days of diflucan and a cream to apply twice a day. I'm not better, but I'm not worse, yet... I'm very scared. I see her again this Friday. I didnt get to see what they looked like until I got home. I was shocked how bad it was and cried and cried. I plan on talking to her Friday about what has gone on. I am not happy!

I had the same thing ugh it smelled gross my nurse practitioner gave me anti-biotics and a cream she said its from either not drying in between the skin folds and sweat so you have to stay on top of them when you get out of the bath/shower make sure you dry completely and if you do something that makes you sweat make sure you keep that area dry for example if I am out somewhere and I am really fussy about this I will go in the bathroom with wet paper towels a little bit of soap & keep it clean also make sure when you go to your doctors they keep a record of it in case you want to have the skin removed some insurance companies will pay for it if its a medical need.
