Social settings. I have a hard time not grazing at parties or family/friend dinners. I'm definitely a social eater. When I'm by myself, I do fine, and often forget to eat because I keep myself busy. But when there's some kind of occasion, I tend to slip quite a bit.

Also, when I'm out running errands. It's SO easy to just pull through a drive-through and grab a burger on the go.

Dinner time prep is the worst. I always snack on things. Like 3 of the 100 calories snack items...I haven't had surgery yet. The counselor set me straight on those little packs and how it is all a set up LOL. Buti hope to overcome this by planning my meals better and getting out for a walk around the hood. I know I can get thru the danger times it is just one day at a time.

When I'm home alone, and the last two weeks have really been a challenge as my DH has had to workt he night shift so I've been here at night all by myself!! Ugh!! Just drives me crazy that I can't stay out of the kitchen some nights!!!

Another late evening grazer here.... I can have just a protein shake (or nothing .. unintentionally) in the morning or for lunch and be happy. In the evenings it doesn't matter if I have had beef steak or a shake up to that point, I think I am Starving!! That is when I snack most (so I use both planned snacks at night... is it still grazing?). At work it is the worst, at home I can go outside and do something.
Sometimes right before bed is a little iffy - pre WLS I had something to eat every night before bed (fruity oatmeal, sandwich, etc)

It's definitely a late night situation for me.  I've just recently acknowledged the fact and decided that I am going to implement an eating plan to pattern my days after.  I've decided that at 8pm I am going to allow myself a nighttime protein latte (decaf) and if I want anything after that, it can only be water or non-caloric fluids.

We'll see how that goes...

My "danger zones" are weeknights and weekends.  Basically, any time I'm home and bored!  I need to keep to a fairly rigid eating schedule to prevent RH symptoms so I'm eating every 2-3 hours as it is.  But when I have nothing else to do I tend to want to fill that time with eating.  I've found the key is to keep myself busy.  If it's not time to eat, I'll get up & do some cleaning, laundry, etc.  On weeknights now, when I get the urge to snack, I make a cup of hot tea with splenda.  Some nights I have 2-3 cups.  It keeps my mouth busy and is sweet, which I crave at night for some reason, although I usually build a sweet treat into my eating schedule for the day too, like an ice cream bar or a cookie or something.

About a year ago I read something that has really stuck with me. It said when you change positions you head for the kitchen. Like if you get up to go to the bathroom or to let the dog out. It's like it a danger time to go graze around in the kitchen. That has really stuck with me. Before I get up I like steel myself.."you are changing postions!". I don't know but it's worked pretty well for me.
So for me my danger time is every time I move!

Evenings after work (or after workouts if I went straight there) are most dangerous to me.  It's my habitual eating time.  I used to come home from work so drained I'd go straight to the kitchen and eat "for energy".  Then I'd make dinner and eat some more.  Now I find myself wanting to do that, and if I do give in I'll count it as a dinner and give myself permission to skip out of the later meal.  it's a process that can be very very dangerous to my weight loss if I don't get/keep it under control.  Mindless habitual eating for no reason.

Weekends are the times I forget to eat at all, or survive off protein bars or drinks.

Holidays aren't bad for me at all.
