What are you eating/doing today? V day!
on 2/14/12 1:37 am
I was really super tempted to go all out for my "last supper" and have kind of a binge fiesta of all my favorite things--a cheeseburger, onions rings, nachos, and a big ol' ice cream sundae.
But eh. I'm trying to keep in mind that I'll eventually be able to eat all those things again....if I want to, which I don't think I will. At least, I hope I won't.
I was driving my dog to doggy camp today, and I passed by all kinds of fast food and donut shops and stuff, and every time I saw a long line of cars piled up at the window, I kept thinking, "Not me anymore!"
I admit, I'm overly optimistic and possibly a bit naive at this point, but I'm really looking forward to having that help in overhauling my diet. :)
I'll see you all on the other side!

I love newbie optimism. It makes me believe in a better world. J
I think your outlook is good. And a gorge last supper is probably not a great idea anyway. The more stuff you eat (and the unhealthier it is) the greater the chance some of it will still be in your stomach when the surgeon goes in there. And nothing ****** a bariatric surgeon off quite like a bunch of food in the stomach!
There are some things I used to eat that I cannot anymore. But you know what? I ate the hell out of them when I could and I am actually satisfied with that!
And whenever possible, of course, I play with my food to recreate the flavors I want!
You are going to do great.

Being at the front desk of an office has it's perks and it's downfalls. I've had about 3-4 people bring me a cookie, cupcake, and mini candies today. I've endulged, yes. But have cut myself off for the rest of the day! Sugar coma.....
