I had my bone marrow biopsy on Thursday - it went fine as far as I know, I was put to sleep at my request, so it was done in the same day surgery center.  I came home 2 hours later and was exhausted and went right to bed.  When I woke up, the joint pain all over my body was unbearable.  I normall have terrible back pain and have had some bad hip pain but since Thursday, everything is unbearable - my back, my hips are over the top, my knees whick havent' hurt since my RNY in 2008, my ankles, my elbows, my shoulders.  I am not sure if it is a reaction to the anestesia or the bone marrow biopsy itself but I have never been in such pain in my life other than the abdominal pain after my illiostomy but this is all over my body.  I wake up in the middle of the night or in the morning and I am in tears and I can hardly move. I try to stand up and I cant' put any weight on my legs and to try to walk, forget it.  I had to sit back down for about 15 minutes.  I took 2 - 4 mg dilaudids, waited the 15minutes and then was able to get up and go to the bathroom.

Wow, I don't know what happened but something triggered something.  Just wondering if this happened to anyone else?  I am seeing a new Rheumatologist that I went to because I thought I had gout - the medication he gave me is helping.  He said I had advanced arthritis in my hips and that my toes are definitely arthritic - not sure if osteoarthritis or gout.  Gave me gout medication to take and told me to come back in a month.  Also gave me some medication for my fibromyalgia and said he was going to do some bloodwork when I came back for some arthritic stuff.  I think he is questioning Psoriatic Arthritis because I have patches of psoriasis on my elbows and used to have it on my knees.  I really liked him - used to have a really good Rheumy but he moved 2 hours away and didn't have anyone for the past 2 years, so this was a pleasant suprise.

There is never a dull moment with me.  Just looking for some help this time

Do a search on fibromyalgia....its "triggered".  My mom has it and i pray your body is just reacting to the surgery.

My sister has Psoriatic Arthritis and Fibromyalgia, I don't know an awful lot about it other than sometimes her pain can't be managed very well.  Although in recent years she seems to have less flare ups but I am not certain if it is because her meds are working well or what.  I will ask her and send you a msg.  So sorry you are in such pain.
