daily vitamin check in

How are you all doing?

I am having another bad day.  I still have to get my iron and C in and I need two more doses of calcium, and I will not get all that (unless I have another night that I cannot sleep, which I am not hoping for, I need some rest).  It's hard to stick to all the vitamins and stuff when I'm anxious or depressed.  It seems like getting my protein in at those times is hard enough and sometimes that seems to be all I can do.

Yesterday was my first day really off protein shakes because of a week of horrible stress and depression.
Today (about an hour ago) I took my multi and a dose of calcium for the first time, I have my B complex and biotin sitting in front of me. I haven't had iron for a week, but hae to decide am I doing iron or another dose of calcium.

When I have to make that decision, I usually go for the iron IF I've had at least one dose of calcium in for the day.  If I have not had any calcium, though, then I usually skip the iron and go for the calcium.

Just had a panniculectomy/abdominoplasty/hernia repair on this last Monday. Been trying to up my protein and stay on top of my vit.
One interesting thing is that they tested before my surgery that my B12 was 912. They told me to back off it since it is a little high?? I knew that wasn't true thanks to you Kelly. I will continue to take 2 B12 pills everyday. By the way that is the highest it has ever been.

Thanks Julie

What is causing you to be anxious or depressed?  Clinical or situational?  I have trouble with iron unless I still have a meal to get in - can't take it on an empty stomach.

Both at the moment, I guess.  I have dealt with depression and PTSD for years but am going through some financial problems right now that have me extremely anxious.  The stuation is very serious.  I am not going to be able to see my therapist for a while because I simply cannot afford it (Medicare pays a portion of the cost but I have to pay the rest, which is about $40 a session).  I will be able to remain on my meds because my copay for meds is not very much at all.  I do have meds for anxiety (Visteril) but I am supposed to take it every four to six hours (and only have a script for 30 of them, which is normally fine because I usually don't take them very often) and they are wearing off after about three hours, at which time I can't stop crying and am just a mess until I take more.  At this rate I will run out of them in a couple days and I don't know what I will do then.

Ohhh...I saw your other post about DH - the job issue.  I take it that didn't work out well.  I'm sorry.  I have long term issues as well in that area - depress & PTSD too.  Sometimes it helps me to feel less anxious when I imagine - worst case senario and then focus on what I can do to minimize the worst case senario.  Ex.  lost job - worst case no income and can't get same job income soon.  May have to sell house or move to cheaper apt.  OK - that's is bad.  So what can be done to minimize?  Get unemployment, look for job - any job in the mean time.  Explore medication assistance, either State or from the pharmacuetical company.  Ask doc for free samples (explain situation and he/she may be able to help).  Talking it out helps - ask therapist for break on co-pay for a while see if that can happen.  Just some thoughts....
