OT - aahh!! financial worries
Yesterday we took one of our cars (the only reliable one, mine is a piece of junk) to the shop for what we expected to be a minor repair. Found out it is going to cost almost $500 to fix it.
Yesterday my partner got in some trouble at work. He didn't do something he was supposed to do and now his boss is threatening to fire him over it. It would be totally his fault if he does get fired, he knew he was supposed to do this thing and just didn't feel like it and he knows how his boss is and could have easily assumed she would be very upset if he didn't do it - but for some reason that I don't really get, he decided not to do it anyway. So now we are waiting to find out if he still has a job.
If he doesn't have a job, we don't have $500 to fix the car. Well, even if he does have a job, we don't really have an extra $500 lying around. But without a reliable car, it will be very hard to look for a new job since there is no public transportation where we live and there is very little within walking distance (one gas station and that's about all you could walk to and that's kind of a long walk).
I feel certain things will work out OK one way or another, they always do. But I don't really need all this stress.

Sorry to hear about your stresses Kelly! I'm a religious person and whenever I start worrying about finances my husband reminds me to pray more..GOD can do anything..absolutely anything. One way or another things have always worked out for us.
As far as the money for the car repairs..have you guys filed your taxes yet? Maybe you'll be getting a little tax return back to help out?

That really sucks, Kelly. I'm sorry to hear that. I hope your partner doesn't lose his job and you can find a way to get the $500 to get the car fixed. I assume you aren't interested in applying for credit to finance the cost long term? Do you have any relatives who might be able to lend you the money? I hope things get better. I'm a mess when I have financial problems.
So sorry Kelly. I completely understand your stress.
Today my husband not paying attention drove my mustang over the corner of a median strip and ruined both tires and wheels on the left.
I realize this is not as serious as your situation because we do have another vehicle and he is employed but dang that stress'll will just kill ya!
Don't know how or when we will get it fixed.
Will be prayin for you and please take care of yourself.

Kelly, so sorry. I hate financial worries...and when are there NOT financial
worries? Honestly....the harder I work, the more I realize I'm one paycheck
away from the curb. I hope your partner's boss takes into account his general
worth and work at his job. Anyway, I will keep you in my thoughts and I
really hope things work out for you. Life is much to difficult sometimes on
a good day to have these kinds of worries.

At this point it looks like he is going to remain employed but is essentially getting demoted. He will be working fewer hours and earning less money. So his plan is to look for another job, which is a good idea anyway because he hates this job, but at least he will have some money coming in while he's looking. He better look fast, though, because we won't be able to make it for long on what he'll be making. I mean, it's better than nothing, but not enough to pay all the bills and we can only borrow so much.
