No way those represent the real numbers.
I have a friend who looks like the first girl - that is size 000-00-0... XS

The midleis probably todays size 2-4 (again my friend daughter looks like that - she is19.. looks happy and healthy - size 6-9

Then the girl on the right.. that loooks like me 10 lbs ago ... (LOL) and that was size 8-10...

I just received this email from a friend moments after reading this post.  I think it is so relative to what Nik posted.  I just wanted to share with you all.

A prayer about SELF-ESTEEM When I am struggling with insecurity   Father, I struggle with insecurity, and often I think it’s because I’m measuring my value by wrong things. I compare myself to other women and worry about how I measure up in appearance, intelligence, or even popularity. Am I a better mother, wife, daughter, or a friend than someone else? I evaluate myself all the time. Not only is it exhausting, but it makes me look at other women as competition instead of as people created in your image, deserving of love. That is not what you want for me. Rather, you want me to think of others as people created in your image, deserving of love. Teach me, Lord, that the only thing that matters-the only way to be secure-is to find my value as your creation. You say that I am one of your masterpieces! Your power within me can give me a healthy and confident self-esteem because, with you, I am capable of becoming far more than I could ever dream on my own.   We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10   This prayer is from a prayer book that I received as a gift. This one really spoke to my heart so I thought I would share. I believe that each one of us struggles with our own value and how we see ourselves when we truly look into a mirror. Do you see yourself as the masterpiece you truly are? I see you as a beautiful princess of the risen KING! I will pray that you see yourself in this same light!   Feel free to share this prayer with any other women in your life that could use a bit of encouragement.

They look exactly like English size 8, 12 AND 16!   Where is the origin of the article?   There is way more vanity sizing here in the US than in Europe in general.

Excellent point, Kim!  That would certainly make more sense.

Personally I think the size 16 one is the best looking one up there.  I am a size 14 and I don't look anywhere near that good. Maybe if I had a little more on top and a little less on bottom, but alas I have the body my mama gave me.

This is a little off topic , but I think we get too caught up in achieving the perfect number.  The fact is that our size is partially determined by genetics.  I don't think I will ever get to a size 6.  Nor do I think it would be healthy for me. I weighed 140 in college and was a size 10.  That is about 5 pounds below my idea weight for my height and frame.  My MIL is tiny.  With her frame she doesn't look good when she is wearing a size 10.  Just my 2cents.

You look amazing! Wow.

I would love to look like any of those women but it seems that most men prefer curves like the woman on the far right of the photo array you had.

Did you  hear about the anorexic (I believe) model with the 20 inch waist? She claims she eats 3 meals a day plus chocolate. Yeah right. She's another reason why women's self image is whacked. I hope no girl looks at her and thinks "I want to look like that". It's gross.

Here's a link to an article and photo about the 20 in waist lady:

Ok.. see I thought I would not be happy at 200 pounds, but I am close to 5'8".. if I look as good as you do at 200, I will be DAMN HAPPY! Thanks, Nik!

(edited to remove the "quote" thing.. that was an accident)
also, I don't think you really look like those women. You look more toned but then again you might be wearin spanx under there for all I know. lol
