Sorry you're feeling down, Nik. Speedy recovery to you.

I am having a pretty awesome day so far, though my body hurts too. In a good way.
I spent ALL day yesterday wrestling down this pair of old-fashioned 130" drapes, and then patching holes, painting, and installing new ones. My shoulders were sore from that, but then I hit the gym this morning and swam 10 laps and then joined in a pretty high intensity deep water class. I. Am. Sore. But it's sore so good.

Breakfast today was a cup of nonfat plain greek yogurt with a truvia packet.

Lunch was a green salad with peanuts, black olives, tomato, and some shredded chicken I pulled off of last night's roast. So delish.

I'm going to spend this afternoon cleaning out my car and the garage, and then dinner will be mushroom braised chicken with roasted brussels sprouts and carrots.

Two things:

#1 – the divas and I are coming to live with you. I will fax over our accommodations shortly ;)

#2 – I have this theory. I need to do an actual test using the scientific method. My hypothesis is that if you put two adjectives before the name of an actual food, people tend to find it more appealing than just the name of the food. (i.e. “We’re having chicken for dinner tonight.Â" Response, “Meh.Â" Vs. “We’re having curry chicken tonight.Â" Response: “Oh…ok…Â" vs. “We’re having coconut curry chicken tonight.Â" Response: “Yummmmm!Â") Any thoughts on what outcomes I might find? I dunno why your post made me think of that. Probably in how descriptive you were about your dinner!

Personally, I am a huge fan of descriptive food terms. I like to use at least two adjectives because there are two essential components to food description: Preparation method and flavor. Gotsta be specific.

"Chicken" can be prepared a million different ways, so it doesn't give the mind much to play with.
"Braised chicken" gives you a preparation method, but no flavor description.
"Mushroom braised chicken" describes how it's prepared, and with what flavors, so your mind can conjure up exactly how juicy and tasty it's gonna be. :D

And it also allows for negative feedback, too.

For me, personally:

"We're having soup for dinner" - Yay! I love soup.
"We're having wonton soup for dinner." - Even better. I love wontons.
"We're having sweet n sour wonton soup for dinner."  - Ew. I'm not a fan of S&S.

Adjectives are everything. ;)

All true! But I find if you go to three adjectives the whole thing goes to hell.

I once made Spicy Apricot Pecan Chicken and it got frowns. Any time I go three adjectives I get frowns. Even on Bariatric Foodie, even if a dish HAS three things going on, I only give it two adjectives for that very reason.

Hah! I find the same thing. Especially in baked goods.
If I make ....say, a caramel ganache cinnamon cake, people tend to get ****eyed and ask,  "Wait...what?"  But if I just call it a caramel ganache cake, there's Oooh's all around.

Actually, it's not soreness. It feels as if I've actually dislocated something or pulled something. Soreness I can handle (even thrive on!). This? Whole other level.

But thanks for your well wishes. I hope it passes but I am going to make a chiro appointment AND get me some better running shoes.
