Poll: Are there foods that intimidate you?
I'm not a picky eater at all, I'll try anything. I haven't eaten Quinoa but I'm willing to try it and will buy some this week. I've actually had trouble finding it here, did see it last week at Kroger's.
Only food that I can think of right now that intimates me is octopus and I've tried it before. Just seeing the tentacles grossed me out and I haven't been able to make myself try it again. I've eaten squid, cow organs, chicken liver (which I love), alligator, turtle, squirrel. I'm Cajun and it's true when they say we'll try anything, LOL; although I did say no to nutria sorry I'm not eating THAT, ewww nor will I eat snake of any kind.
Can't think of a veggie or fruit I won't eat.

There was something like this I was thinking of just teh other day! of course, I don't remember now that I'm being asked.
Artichokes are definately one. Cassava or manioc would be another (not that I need new sources of starch in my diet).
What on earth is one supposed to do with a cactus pear? I bought one and cut it open - it was really pretty but full of little eyeballs. That can't be the right way to eat it - then again people love tapioca (squick!).
