What are you eating/doing today? Manic Monday...

Where exactly was I when they were handing out the “forget to eat on weekends" pouches???

I never forget to eat. Ever. And I am almost never unable to eat. I can eat through a cold, through being tired, through being stressed or depressed (although I am not a stress eater, I can keep my schedule through both). The only time I ever seem to forget to eat is when I am really engaged in something interesting, like a busy day at work, and the time seems to fly by and I don’t notice I haven’t eaten.

Otherwise, as a general rule, I do not skip meals. Ever.

So let's take this Saturday. I wake up around 8:30 - 9 am and get ready for yoga. Can't eat before yoga because it makes me want to puke it up when I get into inversions and backbends. Not nausea, but pressure I guess. Head to yoga for a little over an hour. Socialize post class. Go from yoga to the thrift store and browse around for a while. Head home, hop in the shower. Realize it's 1pm and I haven't eaten... so I toss in a protein bar. I feel full for a while.

Take care of some housework and laundry, read for a little bit, browse on the computer, catch up on shows, prepare my coupon/price match list for tomorrow's shopping trip.

Decide what to make for dinner. Eat.

Sunday - same stuff. Wake up, maybe have coffee, get ready for shopping. Last minute coupon/price match prep. Head to grocery store and shop (this takes a few hours). Come home around 2pm. Put the groceries away. Eat an apple and get full while I put the groceries away because I realize it's past luch and I haven't eaten. Laundry or lounging on the couch for an hour or so. Then I get ready for 4:30 yoga class. Yoga for a little over an hour, then a stop at the gym for a 3 mile run. Get home around 6:45 or 7, shower. Plan dinner, eat.

So it seems I survive on protein bars or fruit an then dinner over the weekends. I absolutely have time to eat something normal, but my schedule is so off from my normal that it just doesn't register that it's time to eat.

I'm a "by the clock" eater during the week so it works for me. I just don't get hungry cues unless I go 8-10 hours during the daytime without eating.

Battling a tummy bug in our household so anything that stays down will do for today.  So far a banana, three saltines and some flat diet 7up.

Trying to make good choices today... as I have been lately.  Can only affect one day's choices at a time... so that's my mantra.  One day at a time...

B - protein latte
S - protein latte and maybe a greek yogurt
L - chili or leftover pulled pork with pickle and onion
S - Quest bar (1/2?) or yogurt
D - chili or leftover pulled pork
S - leftover Apple Brown Nikki!

I resolve to stick to this today... and in addition, add several bottles of water and some Diet Cranberry Juice.

Have a great day and week everyone.
