Sorry about the public shout-out but...
…I have to call out a friend here who has helped me out a lot recently.
None other than Mr. Paul C!!!
I’ll tell you why.
A month or so ago I was feeling kind of low. I had fallen out of regular gym visits and felt like a phony. Here I am telling folks to live a healthy life and I wasn’t doing it. Conversely I wondered what it would be like to start going at it harder again. Mostly it was my ego. Not wanting to start at square one.
One day Paul and I were chatting (we’re friends on FB) and he has a very encouraging way about him. I told him I had a goal to not hate running. He suggested a starter plan that might work. And he’s been available to answer my gamillion-and-four questions ever since.
I’m now jogging (I hesitate to call it running) on the treadmill several times a week for several miles a session. It feels good to be back in the swing of things and I have to give a thank you – yes publicly – to Paul for inspiring me. Sometimes it takes that little extra push to get into doing something and this time you gave that to me.
I think I WILL take you up on the offer of going for a run when I come to Atlanta for OH conference this fall and I'm making a goal to be able to keep up with you!!!
Thanks for being a great friend, here and on Facebook!!!

Nik you have helped do many people and helped me many times whether you know you have or not. I'm just glad I have been able to help and or inspire you and hopefully a few others.
I'm sure that seeing my workouts and bike porn posted to fb might have helped light a fire.
When w run you just have to remember to go slow as I am hoping to just be able to walk, but I will be sporting my 70.3 ironman bling lol.
It honestly does make me feel good trading about your progresses and I look forward to seeing you rack (uhhh huhuh I said RACK) up miles on dailymile.
If both feet are of the ground when you are moving then you are running.
