I just had my 4th surgery at City of Hope and they have really good food.
They have a menu & you can can order anything you want from 6am - 6:45pm.
I didn't have any dietary restrictions so I just ordered what I thought I could eat and something extra for later.
They also make almost any kind of protein shake you want.

when I was in Columbia Presbyterian after my WLS, I had a hard time getting sugar free foods, thankfully I didnt' dump. The tray everyday while on liquids was applejuice, ice cream, italian ices and broth and this came at every meal.

Then 2 years later when I was hospitlized for 2 months, it was even worse. The food was so discusting that I could hardly get anything down - partially because I was so sick and the rest because it was gross.  I lost 30 pounds in that 2 month period with tube feedings through  my G tutbe.  They sent me high sugar vitamin water drinks, meals with tons of gravy and the only thing I could stomach was the macaroni and cheese which was far from bariatric diet and I was listed as a bariatric diet - it was crazy.

When I went back to have the illiostomy reversed, in 1 week, I lost another 10 pounds.

This past year I was in my local hospital 3 times for kidney stones surgeries and the food was absolutely delicious - it was like restaurant.  They had a menu where you had 2 choices and if you didn't want anything from that, there was a separate menu with alternatives.  To help me keep from losing more weight, they gave me a high protein ice cream which was pretty good.

Lora!  We were worried sick about you and you were thinking about the food!

Now that I've teased you, Welcome Back!  You were sorely, sorely, missed!

Yippee!

I had a really good food experience after the transplant. You could order anything off the menu from 7am to 11 pm. You could order just a glass a milk or a giant meal. I was eating small things about every 3 hours. I never made it through the menu.
I'm at home now and missing just picking up the phone to get whatever I want!
