UPDATED LORA UPDATE

(Stupid OH wouldn't let me update my original post)

UPDATE

I called back. She answered. The person answering the hospital phone was WRONG. She is not, nor was she, in surgery.

She said in the ER they packed her nose all the way back to stop the bleeding. This was quite painful and I'm not sure if she said her nose was broken but she mentioned hearing bones crack. She's in pain and uncomfortable but is still very much with us (thank the LORD).

She said it was ok to update everyone and that she didn't update us because she was in pain (which is perfectly understandable in my book). I asked if she needed anything and volunteered any of us who live anywhere near her to go and help but she said she's ok. Her mom is in town and is helping her.

She said she'll see an ear, nose throat doctor. They checked her vitamin K levels which were fine. The doctor, not really familiar with WLS, told her she was supplementing too much. The hospital food they are giving her is also not the best for a WLS patient. She said they've offered her ice cream and such and she asked for a diabetic menu but they don't seem to have things that are really low sugar for whatever reason.

As for my impressions: she does indeed sound like she's in a good deal of pain and is tired, but generally in ok spirits. She wasn't mad at me for tracking her down (thank goodness) and I told her I was going to keep checking in on her if she didn't mind. She said she did not.

Ok! I feel better now. If she expresses a need I'll poll folks to see who lives in OH and might be able to help. Otherwise, I'll give updates as I get them.

Nik-
THANK YOU! Your research and reports are much appreciated. It helps to have a status so we're not so worried.

I'll be praying for Lora and hoping for the pain to ease.

Nik, thank you for your post. We all can breathe a sigh of relief, but hate that she's in such pain. Will keep praying for her.
When my mother was sick with pancreatitis, her hospital food was not low fat or low carb either. And this was a large teaching hospital, that deals with a lot of patients with pancreatitis!

No surgery is such a relief!  Going to keep swinging the chickens though.

I would be flattered if someone bothered to track me down from OH but I understand not everyone would love that.

If I ever need a good detective, however, I may know where to look now.  :-P

Oh thank goodness... SO relieved.  Thank you so much Nik for taking the initiative to track her down.  While I hate that she's in pain, I am very much relieved that she is generally ok.  I'm sure that she didn't intend on scaring us, but probably feels good that so many people were concerned about her.  Sometimes it takes a near-tragedy to find out how much you are loved!

Nik had the idea of asking peeps to provide a contact number if they indicate here they are going to the ER... that was, if nothing is heard, we can check up.  I think it's a great idea...

Thanks again, Nik... and Lora, hope you are feeling better soon, sweetness!

thanks for the update.  I have been following since yesterday and just continued to say a silent prayer for her.  The prayers will keep coming till she back on her feet and posting on here.
I can do this!

I don't believe I know who this woman is, but I am so glad to hear that she is alive and on her way to getting well. I know a lot of you were concerned.
