Was this a "dumbing" episode?

so this morning I got up and ate... I had made chili and cooked it.  (yes I eat normal food in the am)  about a 1/2 hour later I felt shaky and flush but then it only lasted for about 1/2 hour.   I hadn't measured my chili but it was about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of food.

Any ideas?

doesn't sound like dumping to me... but that doesn't mean you are tolerating the chili. Might review some of the ingredients for a sugar / carb /fat count

I had made the chili and froze it after I came home from surgery so I know what is in it and I tolerated it with no problem as a puree.

I am learning myself that tolerance changes... I have had several protein bars over the last 3 months, had one of the "old faithfuls" the other night and nearly had to leave work I felt so wretched.
Vets say you can try it again further down the line and maybe tolerate it but when it comes to protein bars I will just do without for the immediate future!!

Even at nearly 8 years post-RNY, I find that some things bother me all the time, some of the time, or none of the time.  And, every once in a while, something that never bothers me will suddenly bother me.

Oh, and BTW, it's "dumping."

usually people dump from sugar and carbs early out. Example. When i was post op I would dump on potato soup.  Too much carbs.  I dump on fruit and most people don't dump on fruit!!

It may have been the sugar in the tomato sauce if you made it yourself.  I make mine with tomato sauce and tomatoes.  There is sugar in the sauce.  Watch your sugars with spaghetti and chili.

I had a low tolerance for foods early out and now it is some better

For many people feeling flush ( I assume you mean hot in the face with some sweating) and feeling shakey is dumping.
Not all people dump the same. Some have nausea, with diarrhea to follow later, some people sweat and their heart pounds, and some have symptoms more like yours.
I hope it's not dumping, because dumping on chili means dumping on very little sugar ( in tomato sauce) and complex carbs in chili beans.
