LORA UPDATE
Posted an updated update in another thread when this one wouldn't allow me to edit the post.
Here it is:
UPDATE
I called back. She answered. The person answering the hospital phone was WRONG. She is not, nor was she, in surgery.
She said in the ER they packed her nose all the way back to stop the bleeding. This was quite painful and I'm not sure if she said her nose was broken but she mentioned hearing bones crack. She's in pain and uncomfortable but is still very much with us (thank the LORD).
She said it was ok to update everyone and that she didn't update us because she was in pain (which is perfectly understandable in my book). I asked if she needed anything and volunteered any of us who live anywhere near her to go and help but she said she's ok. Her mom is in town and is helping her.
She said she'll see an ear, nose throat doctor. They checked her vitamin K levels which were fine. The doctor, not really familiar with WLS, told her she was supplementing too much. The hospital food they are giving her is also not the best for a WLS patient. She said they've offered her ice cream and such and she asked for a diabetic menu but they don't seem to have things that are really low sugar for whatever reason.
As for my impressions: she does indeed sound like she's in a good deal of pain and is tired, but generally in ok spirits. She wasn't mad at me for tracking her down (thank goodness) and I told her I was going to keep checking in on her if she didn't mind. She said she did not.
Ok! I feel better now. If she expresses a need I'll poll folks to see who lives in OH and might be able to help. Otherwise, I'll give updates as I get them.
