does your doctor yell at you?
What he said was right but it was the way he said it. It hurt my feelings. He was not wrong by what he was saying just wish he would have said it kinder. He lectured me. I am 43 and I have not been lectured in a long time. LOL It caught me off guard and has bothered me ever since. I say he yelled at me because at the time that is the way I took it. But now that I have had time to think about it I know thats not the case. He said what he said because he cares about my success.
But I am so thankful you brought it up because it gave me time to talk about it. I talked to my husband about it and he just didn't understand. I even talked to my shrink about and decided that if all I am stessed out about is seeing my doctor about my weight loss then I have nothing to complain about. There are people worrying about worse things today. I just need to get my butt in gear and do whats right for me.
Thank you for listening.

Well, I think I've seen my surgeon twice since I had surgery I think. I got a
reminder for labs and a 1-year follow-up but I'll go to my PCP. The
surgeon is a wonderful surgeon, well-respected, and for the brief
periods I actually saw him he seemed very likeable. He's just
farther than I need to go for labs so I'll see my PCP, who is simply
amazing. I think anybody who's seen a number of docs over the
years has run into ones they don't care for. I had an endocrinologist
who is quite good and has won awards...but certainly not for his
professionalism or bedside manner. He was a pompous ass
and became quite antagonistic at every visit. Just prior to my
doing my work-up for this surgery I just quit seeing him and will
likely never go back, even if I need to see an endocrinologist
again. There are other fish in the sea, as they say. I figure
for what my insurance company and I pay any doctor, they
need to meet my needs and be willing to listen and give me
the information I need. If not, I'm throwing my money away.
Luckily, my PCP has been in my corner for some years now.
Lucky me to have found him.
