I have had the experience of a fiercely beating heart, followed by sleepiness, but haven't thrown up. It happened after I ate sugar free pudding, and a little bit of potato.

Since it takes a lot of sugar to make me dump (about 25g is my guess... pumpkin pie filling from even a small piece of Marie Callendar's pie (won't make THAT mistake again!) or half a cup of Haagen Dazs ice cream) -- and that also means a lot of fat and calories that are not acceptable -- for all practical purposes, I don't dump n(since I don't have to worry about dumping when eating 99.9% of the time).

I do not dump. The stuff they said that would make me dump doesn't.

I was kind of surprised after my poll the other day about dumping, because most people that responded said they do dump and it's my understanding that most RNY folks actually do NOT dump (the Mayo Clinic says 25-50% do, but many only  mildly).

So I was wondering if a lot of people that don't dump just didn't choose to respond because they thought I was just asking for info from those that do dump.

So, who here does NOT dump?
Unfortunately I don't dump.............and that is my normal ways.   Not dumping is one of the reasons for my weight regain because me and carbs get along just fine........Also my iron intake keeps me constipated but on rare occasions if I eat something too rich, let's say banana pudding made from scratch with heavy cream and such not jello pudding, then I may dump or have an episode of reactive low blood sugar.   if that happens for me, my symtoms are sudden urge to go with many loose stools, followed by heart racing, sweating, and shaking and a need to lay down and get quiet....then I look for something to constipate me again.....lol

What you described IS dumping.. my guess is your threshhold is high, or it has to be high sugar AND high fat.

I know that is dumping when I experience it and just because I have that high tolerance post-op it leads me into dangerous weight regain waters.

I wish I was not a dumper and I wish I could stay full but on the bright side, I have had no complications and  over 100 pounds is still gone and all of my comorbidities so all was not in vain

I'm not a Dumper. If I to much sugar my stomach hurts slightly but that's it. The only reason I know this is because at the holidays someone said there was SF dessert but they lied!

I have had mild dumping with racing heartbeat and not feeling well. It
hasn't happened for quite a while, so I have to say I don't dump
easily at all. I'm more likely to have RH than dumping.

I don't dump either. Never have. Unfortunately, it seems I can have limitless sugar. :-(
