OT -what kind of crafts do you do?
I used to crochet a lot but I got kind of bored with it. Still do sometimes, but not so much.
Recently I've been making stuff out of stuff you would otherwise throw away. Like, I made some cool shopping bags out of old tee shirts. And I made some really neat envelopes out of old calender pages (ones with nice pictures). I made a couple quilted pot holders out of fabric scraps, which look really nice but took a looonnngg time to make.
So, what kind of crafts do you do?

I also do quilling, but haven't done anything for a while. I usually make Christmas gifts and decorate wedding invitations and baby shower announcements.
Loved chocheting scarves when I lived up north, but no real call for that in sunny FL!

What kind of yarn do you use for dish rags? I might like crocheting those because I could finish one pretty quickly. Blankets take so long.

anyhow i chain 30, then 17 rows of double crochet, then i single crochet going around the outside edges, when you get the the last stitch of the 17th row, i go around the outside edge, it makes kinda like a boarder...and in one corner it kinda makes a hole kinda like..i noticed that one time and it makes a nice fit for a hook if you want to hang the dish rag on a hook...so yeppers, that was an intentional act, thats my story and im sticking to it.. ha ha...it is kinda hard to go and find where to put the stitch on the edges, but it looks nice when it gets all done....you can find peaches n cream web site also, but they sent me a notice as they were selling to a different company..but they have alot more colors to choose from than wal mart...i really dont suggest you buy the balls....they arent worth it to me..but then i make dozens of these, that is what i am working on all the time...this almost makes great lap throws...nice cotton soft yarn...not fuzzy...the rags work great and last a long time if youdont cut it when you wash a knife or something..mine end up faded from bleach than from gettign worn out...
my parents have a restuarant, gift shop, campground right outside of devisl tower wyming...did you see the movie close encoutners of the 3rd kind with richard dryfus back in the 70's...that mountain he built in his front room? or out of the mashed taters on his plate....that movie was filmed in the area...and they are less than 1/2 mile from the entrance to the tower...it is out in the middle of no where, 40 miles off the main highway, and wal mart is an hour away one way....the closest town is 9 miles away and its about 400 people, they have no street light, they only have 2 stop signs in the whole town....2 bars, 1 store, 1 post office etc....its small town living at its best thats for sure...people ride their horses to the store to get things sometimes...not uncommon to see horses tied up at the bar either...or 4 wheelers with no TAGS on them to make them street legal...its a whole new world there thats for sure...
any how i can send you a photo of my dish rags if you like...they are simple to make, i can get one done in about 1.5 hours depends on how often i stop or take abreak...
hope this helps debby
