1.   Yes, I dump.

2.  It happens from time to time, usually after I've done something stupid.

3. I dump on sugar, sugar alcohols and excessive (for me) amounts of white carbs.

4.  I have always been able to pin the culprit.

5.  Yes.

6.  Yes.

7.  I dumped previous to surgery, so I recognized it when it happened.  Discovery was accidental--I dumped on sugar alcohols.

8.  I don't mind it.  It helps keep me honest--most of the time.

1. Do you dump? I don't think so. Haven't dumped yet.

2.
N/A

3. I haven't dumped and have eaten chicken skin. That shoulda made me dump.

4. I'll know if I dump what made me dump

5. I suppose because I've mostly been good.  Only one teensy bite or taste of bad stuff.

6. I eat fat sometimes and that should make me dump yet it doesn't.  But I try to do it in teeny amounts.

7. N/A

1.  Do you dump (I'm not gonna try to define dumping for you, other than to say I don't just mean does your tummy get a bit queazy if you eat certain things)?

Yes

2.  Have you dumped just a few times, or does it happen often?

I can be hard headed, so Ive done it a few times.

3.  Do you dump on sugar?  Fat?  Something else?

Both fat and sugar, but I havent noticed too much on the fat recently. Mostly sugar.

4.  Do you know what makes you dump, or are you surprised when it happens?

Yes, I know. But like I said, I can be hard headed. Sometimes I 'forget' since it hasnt happened in a while on something like Milk, then I try again. The memory comes back quickly. I do notice that there are things that make me dump once, then not the second time, but the third time. Maybe I had protein with it?

5.  Are you able to prevent dumping by watching what you eat?

Yes

6.  Do you ever eat things that you  know might cause dumping?  Like, is it too hard to resist that brownie even though you know it will probably make you sick?

Did you see the part about being hard headed?

7.  If you do dump, how did you find out that you dump?  Like, did you accidentally eat something you thought was sugar free only to find out it wasn't, or did you test yourself on purpose?

I found out I dump by eating sugar free pudding. I did it a couple times before I realized what it was. I didnt think the sf pudding would do that to me. Later on finding out the hard way really sealed it for me!

8.  If you don't dump, do you wish you did?  If you do dump, do you wish you didn't?

Im GLAD I DUMP, sometimes I wi**** were more consistent.

1.  Do you dump (I'm not gonna try to define dumping for you, other than to say I don't just mean does your tummy get a bit queasy if you eat certain things)?

yes

2.  Have you dumped just a few times, or does it happen often?

I've dumped twice in 5 months

3.  Do you dump on sugar?  Fat?  Something else?

I've dumped on fat both times

4.  Do you know what makes you dump, or are you surprised when it happens?

When it happened the both times I was surprised.  I was home visiting my parents for Christmas and I ate some fried seafood (my dad pan fried my serving in olive oil).  Within 20 minutes of eating I was in the bathroom...it wasn't pretty.  I couldn't figure out what caused it because I'd eaten everything before.  The second time I dumped off of the fried chicken at the Amish Market.  That's when it clicked that it was the high fat content from the frying that the cause.

5.  Are you able to prevent dumping by watching what you eat?

Yes, I keep my fat content low and no more fried foods (and yes I know I shouldn't be eating them anyway)

6.  Do you ever eat things that you  know might cause dumping?  Like, is it too hard to resist that brownie even though you know it will probably make you sick?

No, it's not hard since the culprit for my dumping is fats...I get the FF or LF option for most foods and I ask that my food is not fried or that it is oven fried so that I get the "crispy" taste and texture w/o the fat from the grease.

7.  If you do dump, how did you find out that you dump?  Like, did you accidentally eat something you thought was sugar free only to find out it wasn't, or did you test yourself on purpose?

I found out on accident.  I purposely have tried to assume that I dump to keep myself away from foods with lots of sugar.  I eat a lot of fruit (and always have) so I get plenty of natural sugar and don't crave sweets.  I will have a bite of someones cake or a piece of a brownie or cookie if I'm so inclined which is a HUGE shift from eating a whole pan of brownies or a whole box of Girl scout cookies.  But just eating a huge chunk of something to see if I dump...no I haven't done that and don't plan to.

8.  If you don't dump, do you wish you did?  If you do dump, do you wish you didn't?

The dumping on fats isn't a huge deal for me since I only dump on higher fat foods.  I'm not inclined to eat fried chicken everyday so no I don't wish that I didn't dump....it just sorta is what it is.

Good Lord this is a long poll.

Ok...

1. Yes, under the right cir****tances. I know know what those cir****tances are and avoid them so I don't dump often.

2. It happened a few times early post-op. I quickly learned the reasons and began to modify my behavior as dumping really messed me up a few days, not just 20 minutes like others.

3. Both

4. Yes. And I avoid it!

5. Yes fortunately.

6. Yes, but I find that if I do so after eating a meal a) the worst I get, if anything, is a "mini-dump" (which would prolly look like the average post-ops normal dump) and b) I can only eat like three bites.

7. Went to 'Bux. Asked for a sugar-free drink. They gave me a regular one. It was BAD. Was sick for a few days (it was a Frappucino. Little did I know the base always has sugar in it. They told me it didn't and was sugar free). Called 'Bux afterward. They apologized profusely and sent me a BIG gift card.

8. I'm glad I dump. It's another failsafe to keep my addict brain in check.
