OT- what a way to wake up

We have 6 kitties and there's always some "surprise' I wake up to in the morning. Thank goodness, they're all healthy (they see the vet at least once a year) and fur balls are normal.
But, YUK, I know how you feel!

My kitty, Bella is also long haired and she was the culprit! I did forget to mention there was some vomit with it, but not too much. It's scary when you don't know what you're stepping in!
No matter what, I still love every one of them, they are my four-legged children!

My kitty, Spaz, is almost 14 yrs old. She's always had a problem with vomitting since she was a kitten. I've been to multiple vets and after running tests and finding nothing wrong, they just tell me the same thing..."she's a cat, that's what they do". :)
This past September we had to put our other cat, Keeter, to sleep. She was 19.5 yrs old and had been telling us for weeks that it was time...it was such a hard thing to do even though we knew it was right, it was really tough.
Keeter had some of the most disgusting smelling poop...she could clear out the house! Ever since Keeter died, though, Spaz has mostly started vomitting near the litter box. I'm guessing that since it doesn't smell so bad anymore, she figured she'd puke in there. :) Every once in awhile she'll do it elsewhere, sometimes on the arm or back of the couch, but luckily never in the bed!
Spaz is a priss, though...always grooming, takes forever in the litterbox since she has to arrange everything both before and after she goes. :)
It's amazing how much our fur-babies mean to us. :)

Then we found out we had 2 that have allergies. One is just allergic to grains. The other is allergic to grains and common proteins. So no chicken, beef, turkey, fish or any of the other easy to obtain cat foods anymore.
Grain free is pretty pricey. Rare proteins and grain free are going to bankrupt us. It really limits them as well to duck, venison, trout, sometimes rabbit but that is hard to find. And you would think that giving them a food that is 95% meat would be fantastic to them. Oh no. They will turn their little noses up at it and try to hold out for something different. It's been over 6 months and they still act like we are trying to poison them. But our urp problem improved exponentionally since the change to mostly hairballs and very little just plain old puking.
My husband pretty much summed it up...only we could end up with a cat that is allergic to chicken and beef.
On a sidenote, have you tried giving them papaya enzyme? I was crushing them up in their food before we found out about the allergies and it did help the cats that don't have them.
The next morning I had forgotten all about this until I went downstairs and on the deck below was a big white furball that went splat! lol
My other cat once put a dead mouse in my shoe - Fun stuff
