OT- what a way to wake up

So I am all cozy under the covers, happily dreaming about... well, I don't remember now.  Thanks to the rude awakening.

Because as I lazily stretched out one leg, my foot landed right in a puddle of something cold and slimy.  Cat owners, wanna guess what it was?  Yep, cat vomit.  Yep, on the bed.

So by the time I get up, wash my foot, clean up said vomit, and then feed the offending beasts (who are delighted I am awake and insist on being fed immediately and are quite displeased that I insist on cleaning my foot first), do you think I can go back to sleep?  Of course not.

Anyone want a cat?    > ^^

Ewwwwwwww!

My cat, Niobe, seems to puke at least once every time I feed her. Doesn't matter what kind of food. She eats, she yaks then she's ok. I think she might be a post-op kitty.

Why is it we can train them to poop in a litter box but not puke in one?

My vet says they head for the soft stuff because they think they can cover up the vomit by pawing at the sheets/rugs, but know that it will be left there for all to see if it's on the tile.

I'm waiting - my Spook is like Nik's Niobe most of the time, but it's been a couple of days free now...

wouldn't it be easier to cover it up in the litter box than on the bed?

One would think, but as DH says, we're asking cats to THINK about OUR wants?  Then he laughs.

I would take a foot full of cat puke over the kid puke I had to clean up at 1230 am.  And then had 5 loads of laundry to do after that.

Praying the other 3 don't get sick.

Sorry to hear about the vomiting.    Sometimes vomiting can be a sign of sickness.

I had to put my 12.5 years old cat down almost a year ago because he was constantly throwing up, lost weight.  It turned out he had lymphoma.  It wasn't fun going thru feline cancer.  At first I assumed he was vomiting because he was eating too fast, and/or hairballs.

I now have two new baby kittens.  They have not vomited and while its nice not having to deal with it anymore, but I will be watching their health.

246 in Dec 2008 before banded 1/28/09 at 215 lbs, band crapped 9/09 at 170 lbs and struggled with it and regained to 203 revised to bypass on 8/1/11 and am very happy.

I know which one vomited and she is not well.  She has a number of health problems, including diabetes and a history of cancer.  She had kitty breast cancer a few years ago and had surgery and chemotherapy and has been in remission but I suspect the cancer may be back.  She has much less appetite and sleeps most of the time.  She's an older girl and I do not plan to put her through surgery and chemo again.
