Surgeon didn't put me on a PPI after surgery..
Not all surgeons do, and most peple that don't take them do just fine. Sometimes it depends on what the surgeon expects you to be eating (or not eating) during the first month or so post-op.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I wasn't on one.

My surgeon had me stop my PPI when I had my surgery. Have not needed it at all. I have had a weird feeling in my pouch but no actual heartburn. Hallelujah!
I also had some early labs done because I felt like crap. All my labs came back good including my cholesterol, but my thyroid is screwed up again. That is pretty normal for me, so I am just so excited that everything looks good! Yay RNY!
