What are you eating/doing today? Thursday...

I got no mo-jo today. Can't exactly say why. I feel a cross between blah and "sniff, sniff." It's not even close to "that time of the month" so I'm just going to label it "one of those days..." and I know exactly how to deal with it.

I NEED to have a "come to Jesus" moment at the gym. For whatever reason, hard workouts bring the most stubbornly buried emotions to the surface. Hmph. Paul...this is WHY I run when I hate to do so...doing something you hate enduces whining, whining tends to get to the heart of the matter REAL quick.

In better news, I found a rather beat up flash drive while cleaning the other day. Brought it into the office today to see what was on it and - lo and behold! - it contained chapters to two manuscripts I had been working on before my surgery. I think I may try to do something with one or both. Lord knows I NEED a project right now.

Anyway, eats:

1. Cottage cheese w/ PB2 and a bit of cereal
2. Click Frapp
3. Spicy-Tangy Salmon & Quinoa
4. An apple
5. Mushroom Chicken
6. Probably Greek yogurt and, if I remember to buy more, Fiber One

Trying to potty train my daughter so we'll be staying in today. That and a sore throat make for a trying day.

Breakfast was homemade yogurt with blueberries and homemade soaked granola
Lunch, I have no idea. Most likely a shake.
Dinner will be something made with chicken thighs.
Snacks will be cottage cheese and a hot protein drink.

Hot lemonaid and tea to drink today.

Today it is frosty..wait..so cold ho****er turns to frozen crystals immediately when projected into the air!

My eats today

Cottage Cheese Pancakes & SF Syrup that is not sitting well and only ate half portion.
1/2 protein shake (Strawberry banana)
50 g Shaved Garlic Roast Beef and Cheese stick
1 Light babybel cheese
No idea for supper, maybe refried beans
Protein shake for night snack

Exercise, walking around the inside of my building at work, it's too cold to go anywhere you don't have today, actually to cold to really get out of bed

On track with my vitamins so far.

I had Morningstar Farms breakfast strips for breakfast.  Yum.  Had to share with the cat, though.  she doesn't know they're not real bacon.

I'll do Greek yogurt for lunch and maybe just a protein bar for dinner.  My partner is working late tonight and I don't really like cooking just for myself.  I might have some roasted chickpeas for a snap, maybe a protein shake, maybe some more yogurt.

My son and I are taking the metro into Washington DC (we live in a suburb of Baltimore) to see IN THE LAND OF BLOOD AND HONEY, Angelina Jolie's movie about the Bosnian-Serbian conflict  of 1992-1995.   I'm writing a young adult novel that is an allegory of the Rwandan genocide of 1994, so this is extremely relevant to me.

My son goes back to UMD next week so this is our last chance to do it.  I'm only a little over a week post-op and still on a full liquid diet, so I'll have to carry protein powder and yogurt with me. Not sure what I'll be able to find that I can eat at a restaurant at this stage.  (Will they blend soup for you?)

In any case, I'll definitely get some walking in!

I gave away my quest bars... just couldn't do it.  Don't care what I paid for them.

So:

B - power crunch bar
L/S  - tofu (barbeque) & cottage cheese
D - homemade mac n cheese - dreamfields pasta & super sharp cheddar

Laura,

You don't like what you don't like! I get that. Much as some folks live or die for Unjury I will always hate the stuff.

It's actually a victory of sorts that I would give away food that I don't "hate"..... but now, I only eat food that I "love".

Pouch space is much too valuable for not wonderful eats.

It's a blah day for me also. Just feeling mullygrubby...don't even know if that's a word, but it's how I feel. That being said, I'm working on increasing the ratio of protein to carbs.

B: boiled egg/veggie sausage/strawberries
L: steak salad/clementine
S: greek yogurt/strawberries
D: I think something omlette-ey like, with veggies and cheese/slice of toast
S: protein drink
