Ot - yeah, maybe I am grumpy....

Wanna know why?  Well, I'm going to tell you!

Today I absolutely had to venture out in the cold and snow to run some errands that could not be put off one more day.  I live in a small town and apparently they don't believe in cleaning the roads here.

I was nearly done with my errands, looking forward to getting home, when I got back in the car only to find it would not shift out of part.  I had to call my partner to leave work and come get me and take me home.  Of course, he wants to try the car himself and it works just fine for him.  This car has something wrong with the transmission and I hate it and want to get rid of it.  I think it is possessed by demons.

I finally did make it home to discover a nice yellow note on the door.  Oops!  I had totally forgotten that someone from the gas company was coming because there is something wrong with my meter, which is outdoors, but for some reason I don't understand they cannot look at it unless someone is home so they can come inside (even though you cannot see the meter from inside).  Well, if it wasn't for that stupid car, I would have made it home in time for them.

Tomorrow I have to drive out to the farm (a 30 minute drive in nice weather, who knows how long in all this snow) to pick up my milk for the week.  I had one bottle of milk left from last week so decided to make some butter with the cream.  Apparently you can make butter in the blender.  Did you know that?  Well, you can... unless the gods are out to get you and your blender begins to emit a horrible noise and a foul smell, then dies altogether.  Then you are left with a blender full of milk and some small chunky looking things which you have to pour out as you try not to calculate how much that wasted milk just cost you.

Who wouldn't be grumpy?

Kelly, I'm sorry you've been having a crappy day!!!! It's gotta get better tomorrow, right? (BTW your car story reminded me of an old POS car I had back in grad school days. One day I got into the car and tried to crank it to go home - that in itself was another story because the key had become permanently lodged in the ignition some time back - and it wouldn't crank! I called then boyfriend & now DH to help me out, we worked on it for 20 min, trying to figure out what could possibly be wrong, when he realized that the car wasn't actually in park but somewhere between park and reverse! SO therefore it wouldn't crank, but how it managed never to slide down the carpark by itself in reverse is beyond me.....), Hope that story made you smile!

It'll get better tomorrow... as long as I don't end up stuck in a snow bank somewhere out in the country miles from no where.

How awful about the wasted milk;  couldn't you try to put the liquid in an empty mayo jar and then turn it upsidedown and back and forh forever?  That's how we used to make butter at my aunt's house.

Hope you have a better day tomorrow (or whenever that dratted bad weather goes by)

I thought about that.  I wasn't sure if it would work and it seemed like I would have to shake it for a looonnngggg time.

anytime I have cream that is going out of date, I just shake it in a jar. It takes awhile, but the only thing that can break is my arm! lol
