I'm working on have a revision from VBG to a RNY soon and I'm confused about all the protein powders that are out there. Is there a difference between the body-building protein whey powders and those sold as "bariatric supplements"????

This board and the Exercise and Fitness forum are my faves.  There is sooo much drama on the main board....I try to check it for newbies I might be able to help, but other than that, I come here and E&F.

I agree completely.  I learned more reading and lurking here post surgery than I ever did from my two friends who had RNY, and my doctors office, sadly.  (Not that they were bad, just didn't have all the details.)

Ditto to all. It is unfortunate that the board doesn't have a "search" feature, so that we can easily look up a question which was already asked, but there is a way to mimic it via Google. Many people don't realize that you can tell Google to look in only one specific website. The way to do that is to tell Google what you're looking for, and then type "site:" followed by the site without any blanks.

For example, you might go to Google and type something like:

calcium citrate carbonate kelly lisa site:www.obesityhelp.com/forums/rny

Give it a try!

It actually DOES have a search feature... look at the top right corner of the page... but it is NOT very reliable even when you remember exact phrases or words that were in a particular old message wyou are trying to find.  It is, however, better than nothing, and for questions that get asked a LOT -- like questions about the week 3 stall or how much calcium we need -- there are enough post son those things that even the search function finds loads of them.

It is probably because of all the ads at the top and down the side of the page!  I was here for about a month before I noticed it.
