Do you have a swimsuit that is too big?

Hey Folks!  In my quest to swim my weight off, I had a great idea: collect useable swimwear & distribute it among those who want to start swimming!

I haven't figured out how I can pull this off, but I will try to figure out how to pay the postage for swimwear to me, then anyone wanting a certain size or suit will have to pay the shipping to them.

If you have suits you are happy to part with & give another person the opportunity to swim, please contact me!

my surgeon has monthly support groups that meet and do a twice yearly clothing exchange...any chance a support group in your area would have a clothing exchange?

I have one, I think it's a size 14, I'd be happy to pass on to anyone that wants it.  This is pitiful but I only wore it a couple times before it got too big for me.

I take my monthly picture in mine...lol...  but we also have a quartly clothes swop near by.
Great idea though nothing like recycling our fat clothes to others.

THANKS for the responses so far!!!

Yes, I have been exchanging TONS of clothing within 3 different WLS Groups, as well as passing on to Women's Shelters, friends, and anyone who wants/needs clothing.

It is kind of funny, I had not already thought to do this.  I have been involved in support groups as well as here on OH almost TWO years, wow, time has flown.  I have been swimming so much, even hit my yearly goal of 500 miles!

My thought is this:  Many women complain they don't have a suit, or cannot afford one, so this is a major excuse/reason not to swim/exercise.  If I have a pile of suits to share - then EVERYONE wins!

Anyone have a suit, let me know.  If you can ship to me -- THANKS!!!  I am trying to figure the best way to do this cheap, efficient, and being available to anyone wanting/needing a suit!  Feel free to pass my name along!!!

Seattle_Maui at Yahoo -- or brenda at seattlemaui dot com are my direct emails.

THANKS, and keep swimming!!!

I think I have two- size 14 and 18. I don't think either fit anymore and I won't be going anywhere warm for vacation this winter even if the smaller one does still fit. By next year both better be to big!

PM me your address and I'll mail them to you.

Perhaps there are others that would help you collect and distribute?

Brenda I think this is an excellent idea! I have been trying to find a bathing suit at my local thrift stores but have not been able to find one in my size. Please let me know if you get this up and running b/c I am definitely interested and need a bathing suit.

It's funny but buying a bathing suit was one of the last big hurdles I had to cross. I wore my old bathing suit after losing 150 pounds. My mother in law went to the pool with me and told me I was indecent! I went to Nordstom's. It was only kinda painful. I know have one suit. It's gonna have to hold me cause I just can't face the suit shopping any time soon.
I think you have a great ideal. I hope it works out. Being in the water feels great.
