I have a non-WLS friend who lives in the middle of nowhere but wants to drop some weight and has heard people rave about how much fun Zumba is, so she is looking for a good Zumba DVD that would be doable for someone just starting out.  Since my knees wouldn't last 10 minutes with Zumba, I am clueless but thought someone here might have a recommendation.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

Lora I am not aware of any dvds, but if your friend has a wii or x-box 360 they have a Zumba game that lets you work at your own pace..

Her husband has one of the game systems, but I'm not sure which one... I will definitely let her know, though.  Thanks.

Hubby just bought me the Zumba Exhilarate videos. The first one shows you how to do all the steps and they have a beginners video set and gets more complex as you learn. I love zumba. I haven't done too many of them yet but what I've used so far are easy to follow along.

if they say the word zumba on them they are made by the same company so they should be pretty similar. even the classes at the gym are because the instructors are certified by the company and are sent playlists and steps to follow. i'm sure the gyms need to pay money to even use the name zumba for their class name, like la fitness's class is called 'latin dance' instead.

I purchased my Zumba DVDs from eBay.  They were really cheap, around $25 but most were going for $40-$50.
