Does Biotin really work?
I don't know if it really works or not but I refuse to stop taking it incase it does. I'm afraid if I didn't take it then my hair would be worse. I lost a lot of hair. Nobody really noticed though. However... it fell out in clumps it seemed... but it did stop... and I still take biotin. My hair is growing back in too. I have short hair all over my head and if I don't style it you can see all the spikes.
I started mega doses before surgery and still lost hair, although it was later than most folks. I have lots of new hair but still am losing some. Did it work? Who knows.

I think it works. I'm a blond with thinish hair to begin with. I lost 1/2 of my hair betwwn 3-7 months, I started taking biotin as soon as I had surgery, it does NOT stop your hair from falling out but it speeds up the regrowth, I have 2 inch long new growth all over my head and I had that started BEFORE my hair even started falling out.. plus my armpit and leg hair is growing faster so I think it works for sure! I take 2,000 mcg per day. Even though I hate how thin my hair got no one noticed except the girl that does my hair and now it's starting to look and feel thicker. WORTH IT!!
When I asked my nutritionist about Biotin, she said take it but also use Nioxin Shampoo and Treatment for thinning and hair loss (ask your hair dresser or go to your local beauty supply place, you don't have to be a hair dresser to purchase it). I am so worried about it as I already have VERY thin hair to begin with and I haven't even had my surgery yet. I will fight it every step of the way.
