Oh, that sounds good, I love pesto.

And I love hummus.

But got any suggestions for how to do this since I have no food processor?  I have a blender but it's a cheap one.

I've done pesto in a blender before. I did buy a $10 mini food chopper at either Walgreens or Walmart at one point, and it does a great job, too.

You could make a version of watergate salad

Greek yogurt
SF pistachio pudding
crushed pineapple
pistachio nuts
cool whip
and even a few mini marshmallows (if you can handle the sugar)

I love pistachios and always have a big bowl on my counter....we are big nut eaters at my house!

I loved them before bypass, I still remember what it tastes like,, but now after bypass, when I think about having pisatchios.. my stomach turns at the thought of it so I think it's a no go for me so enjoy it for me!

246 in Dec 2008 before banded 1/28/09 at 215 lbs, band crapped 9/09 at 170 lbs and struggled with it and regained to 203 revised to bypass on 8/1/11 and am very happy.

I think they are delish crushed and put over any dessert with whipped topping.

Protein ice cream topper...

Crushed and used as breading for chicken or baked cheese?

Be happy.

Ooh, baked cheese.  Yum.

Now, I know little about cooking.  How exactly would you do that?

Put some cheese in the freezer -- crush the pistachios then roll the cheese in egg white then the nuts. Bake.

Nik's blog has something about cheesesticks on there. It's the same concept.

Be happy.

You can make a butter with them in your food processor.  It is good on oatmeal, as a topper on ice cream or just on toast.

For about 2/3 cup of nut butter

1 cup pistachios, shells removed 2-3 Tablespoons oil 1 Tablespoon honey 1-2 Tablespoons water

start by pulsing the nuts but don't make it a powder.  then stream in the oil a little at a time. Add the honey and a little of the water.  Keep pulsing.  Scrape it down and add more water or oil if you think it needs it.
