4 weeks out

Saw the surgeon yesterday for my 4 week check.  Down 19.5 pounds since surgery.  Labs drawn last week because of the blood loss. Hemoglobin up to 12.7 and my hgb A1C dropped to 5.6!!  I got to lose the gtube yesterday too. So now I am finally Tubeless!

They also cut my B/P meds twice in the last 2 weeks because my pressures were so low.  So I have been completely off diabetes meds since surgery, and now my B/P meds are 1/2 a tab 3 days a week only.  She thinks I will probably be off completely in a month or 2.  Cholesterol had come down, so I am only taking it 3 days a week.  I love my RNY!!!

This is a GREAT post Terri!!

Congrats on getting off those meds!! HOOORAY~~

When I had my 3 month labs drawn, I was SOOO excited to see the changes I called the Dr's office every day for 3 days straight! They finally offered to fax me a copy...and I was so glad they did!! My cholesterol and tryglycerides dropped so dramatically it brought tears to my eyes!! I KNEW i made the right decision when read that lab report.

I keep the report in my drawer (I had memorized my bad numbers prior to surgery, they were THAT BAD). Whenever I get discouraged, I look at that report....THAT is why I had this surgery...not to LOOK GREAT in a bathing suit (I doubt that will EVER happen!) but to be healthy!! I am so glad you see those results at one month out...it was a great motivation at 3 months out to KEEP DOING GOOD!!

Congrats again!

Congrats! Getting meds reduced or stopped is so motivational! Keep up the great work. Take your vitamins and drink your water. :)
