where vitamins get absorbed
I just wanted to mention that we absorb vitamins in our small intestine. In specific spots, actually, but in the small intestine, mostly the upper part. Not in the pouch. Same with protein. So if you're worried that swallowing a vitamin with water or taking a sip of water after your protein drink will wash the vitamins and protein out of your pouch, well, it might but that's OK. You're not absorbing those nutrients in your pouch anyway.

Since several people have mentioned not knowing this, it is probably worth mentioning that the same thing applies to oral medications. They, too, are absorbed in the intestine. Things like Pepto Bismol partially help by coating the stomach/pouch, but the other actions are based on absorption in the intestine.
