Well it has been a journey.  But I have turned the corner.  Yipee!!!!  At my 2 week check  I was down 14 pounds from preop.  Eating  soft and mushy foods. Getting my protein and fluids in.  And getting stronger and able to get up and move about now.  As some know I suffered a massive blood loss at the end of surgery.  And even though they gave me 2 units of blood, I came home very anemic.  My drain is out and the g-tube should come out next Tuesday.

I also had my first dump.  OMG!!!!  My nut said I needed to increase calories as I weaned off the Boost I was getting in the G-tube.  So I had a hair brain idea to add creamy peanut butter to my evening shake.  Not thinking about the fact that a shake goes straight through the pouch.  Dumped that fatty blob of peanut butter straight into the gut.  The most miserable hours I have spent since I quit drinking in the Navy.  We have switched to adding banana to the morning shake,

Anyhoo feeling much better and stronger everyday.

OMG I feel you on the dumping.  It has been 2 weeks since I've had my surgery and my check up is on Thursday the 22nd.  The only problem I had was wen getting out of the hospital i had a lot of draining for where he went in at.  But everything is going good.  Hoprfully I will be going back to work the day after Christmas.

Im two weeks out and tried the "very liquid mashed potatoes" and dumped. It was the worse episode every. Do you feel different eating, for me it feels like my esophagus gets full.

I only feel it in my esophagus if I eat too fast or too much.
