I have no way to guess which ones you will think taste best.  Chewable Centrum (adult Centrum) is probably the best choice taste-wise.  Chewable calcium citrate is going to be expensive anywhere you buy it.  You can get a cheap B12, just make sure it's a sublingual that goes under your tongue.  For protein, I would get a bunch of samples at vitalady.com to see what you like before buying a bunch.

My favorites are OPurity chewable vitamin wafers.  It is loaded with nutritents .
Unjury protein powder. unflavored, strawberry , and chocolate.
Bariatric Advantage Calcium Citrate Chewy Bite.

I bought them online: www.BJsBariatrics.com
The owners have had the surgery and do lots of education along with sales. The bottles of B-12 etc are things that your major grocery and drug stores carry and often have a two for one price.

That didn't answer what you need but your doctor should have given you that list.
Good luck on your surgery day.

You don't worry about all the nutrients that are missing from Opurity?

RNY on 08/22/11 with
Here's the nutritional label for the oPurity vitamins (the optimized for RNY ones)

My only thing is...I don't think your body can absorb all of that at one time, which is why RNY patients are told to take two multi vitamins in seperate doses.

I think you're right about needing two separate doses.  But see how this is really low in vitamin A?  And has beta carotene, which we don't absorb?  And no vitamin K?  No potassium?

They are not really "optimized" for RNY folks, at least not in my mind.  I would assume "optimized for RNY" would mean they met our requirements AND contained forms of vitamins and minerals we can absorb easily.  But these do not.

I wanted to add, stay away from children's vitamins and gummies - they are missing lots of stuff we need.  Also watch out for all-in-one bariatric vitamins that claim to have everything you need in them - they do not.  You need an adult multi with 100% of the RDA of stuff in it, then take two a day.

I don't mean to sound rude, but why did you wait until four days before surgery to start figuring out what vitamins you need?

 Hi Kelly,
So I thought the Bariatric Fusion were supposed to be complete.  I have Vitafusion gummy vitamins as well, but thought the Fusion ones might be better.  What are they missing?

Bariatric Fusion IS better than gummies but it is still NOT complete.  They say they are, but they are lying.  They just want your money.

To get the 200% of the RDA of stuff you need, you would have to take EIGHT of them a day.  They also have calcium carbonate, which we can't absorb.  You won't absorb the B12 in them because it's not a sublingual.

Thanks for the information.  You can ignore my message that I sent with the same question.

What all do you take?
