You're making it too hot.

Use cold coffee -- perhaps make it early and let it sit -- stir protein in VERY WELL or SHAKE in a Blenderball cup -- and microwave at 30 second intervals until warm through but NOT clumpy.

Make it cold!  Same thing -- mix protein and cold coffee VERY VERY WELL.  Add flavors.

I never use a thermometer. I just let the coffee cool to a point where it is not piping hot, but still warm enough to enjoy. Usually still quite warm. Then I add a small amount of coffee to my powder, mix to a paste and add the paste to my big cup of coffee. Only had trouble with clumps in thevery beginning when it was SUPER hot. I use Pure unflavored protein from Baiatriceating.com.

One note: if you mix protein and miralax at the same time, you will always get clumps because the miralax binds to the protein. So, if i want miralax too, I add it first while the coffee is hot and wait til it is completely dissolved to add the protein paste...good luck!

I make the protein paste, let about 1/4 cup of coffee cool then mix the paste with that until disolved. I then add my hot coffee and enjoy, as I like my coffee hot & fre**** mixes well each time.

I use the bullet. I put in coffee, a splash of sugar free coffee creamer, and my protein. It comes out smooth and hot!

Hey there...

I think I've mastered the process as I make two of these each morning.  First I pour either 1/2 c. water or skim milk into my bullet-like blender cup.  I add a scoop of UpcalD calcium powder, a scoop of protein (I usually use Body Fortress Vanilla), a tbsp or so of some flavoring stuff (either General Foods Int'l Coffee SF or some Click -either mocha or vanilla latte) and a couple shakes of cinnamon.  I whir that around in the cup for maybe 10 seconds then pour into my pre-made coffee (I use a Keurig).

I've never once gotten clumps this way.  Works like a charm and there's so many ways to mix it up.  If I'm feeling like it I'll add some SF syrup (like cinnamon vanilla or brown sugar or hazelnut) instead of the Click, or use chocolate protein instead of vanilla, etc.  Countless possibilities...

Good luck... I couldn't live without my daily protein coffee!
