Finally, after waiting on pins and needles, I got word that my insurance has approved my RNY and will pay in full. Sooooooo excited. I made a complete fool of myself on the phone with the surgeon's office. You would have thought I won the lottery. In a way, I guess I have. :D Now, I just have to wait patiently for Dec 30 to roll around...

Congrats!!!  And don't worry about making a fool out of yourself with the surgeons office, I totally did the same thing.  I babbled and thanked her like I too had just won the lottery!  Congrats again!  So happy for you.

It is like winning the lottery...especially if you are blessed like we are and your insurance PAYS for it!! I met plenty of people who paid out of pocket.

Congrats to you!! What a great way to start 2012!!

Congratulations. Its truly a blessing to not have to pay anything. I have to pay $1500.00 but I feel thats a blessing to me also. Imagine if we didnt have insurance??

I got a denial before I got approval.  Talk about making a fool out of yourself. I made a fool out of myself with the doctor's office and the insurance company.

The isurance company blamed the surgeon's office and the office blamed the insurance.

The surgeon's office said their notice from the insurance said I had not completed an online assessment or talked to the health coach both of which I did and could quote day, date and time.

I spent 30 minutes on the phone with the insurance and they said it was because the office did not send everything they needed.

So...I went back and forth with office and insurance all day.

Finally discovered the insurance only needed my LDL level.

Office submitted and I was approved 2 days later and made a fool of myself again!! This time for a different reason.

My surgery will be Dec. 27 so we'll join the loser's bench on the same week!

Yay! Another WLS buddy! That stinks that you had to go through so much to get the approval, but you got it and that's all that matters!

Good luck and keep in touch!

Congratulations!!! Last week I was on the phone myself babbling incoherently. I think they've gotten to the point where they expect that.

Congratulations!!! I was just talking with my surgeon's office yesterday. They are hoping to have an answer this week. She said they don't usually call when the acceptance comes through, but if I want she would. I told her i wanted that lol
