I just had surgery on 11/29 and was wondering if it would hurt my new pouch if I added a little hot sauce to my strained cream soup?

I would ask ur doctor I also had it on the 29th and I do not think it would be safe because your pouch is very sensitive I know the first two weeks suck but it will be worth it

Personally, I would wait a while longer before consuming hot sauce.  Your pouch is still very tender and the hot sauce may cause pain.

I kind of figured as much, glad I asked and I will not be adding any spicy stuff into my diet yet. Thank you!

My surgeon was fine with me eating it pretty early out.  I think I started when I started purees.

Hello and congrats on your surgery.  I am 5 weeks out of surgery 10/28 and I can not tolerate hot sauce.  My stomach feels soo irritated and I feel sick.  I think you should wait a little.  At least a few more weeks.  I know strained soup is not the best tasting food there is but just remember all of these sacrifices are for your health.  Good luck with your weight loss journey!

I started eating hot sauce right away. Of course each person will find certain things they don't tolerate well after surgery. Mine is spegetti I just can't eat it it gives me problems so away with that food but it is worth it.

I also started right away. nothing crazy hot. Franks red hot. The nutritionists are skeptical about it but, I live on it so on my first day of puree (day 9) i ate it with some mashed potato. I didn't have a problem. You just need to test it like any other food!

I was putting siracha and tobasco on my eggs a few weeks out with no problem, but  mustard on a piece of hot dog the other day made me vomit.  Like anything else, I guess it's trial and error.
