Sunday's food log

So far I've had 1505 calories, 109 grams of protein and 72 ounces of liquid.  I'm happy to find I am getting about 1500 calories, which is what I had thought before I was tracking very closely.  And happy to find I'm getting more protein than I realized.

You know, my first day of food tracking was kind of rough, but it's not so bad now.

Good for you!  I am glad you are posting that you are eating 1500 calories a day because I see so many people who are month and months post op trying to eat 800 calories a day and thinking they are gaining weight if they eat 1100 a day!

Today I was so bad Kelly, this weekend is both my son and my boyfriend's birthday and we had cake today and it was SOOO good and I ate a piece with lots of frosting and it tasted good, but I spent the next hour feeling like death warmed over.  I don't "dump" but large amount of sugar like that make me feel crappy.

Oh well, life happens, cake happens, tomorrow will be a day of carrots, low fat cheese and protein shakes!  :)

I'd be too skinny if I only ate 800 calories a day!  Hard as that is to picture, me being too skinny.

I don't think it's a big deal if we eat something like a piece of cake once in a while.  I don't think it's bad.  I think it becomes unhealthy if we do it often, and it's unhealthy if we eat a whole cake insteade of a piece of cake, but splurging and eating a piece of cake once or twice a year on special birthdays is not bad.

Of course it's no fun if it makes  you feel crappy, though.

Kelly, would you mind giving a more descriptive log of your eating today, such as time and amount of food?  This seems to be my hardest part, eating and drinking enough.  If I could see an example of how you are getting your good limits in, that would help me!  If it's too pesonal, no worries - I understand.........

Thanks

Hi Kelly,

I see that your liquid and food intake in the morning is less then 30 minutes apart? I been told several times If I drink something I need to wait at least 30 minutes before food intake. Perhaps is this not true?

I try to wait half an hour after eating before I drink again, but there is no reason not to drink right up until you start to eat.  I  know a lot of docs say you should, and mine said that too.  But since liquids don't say in the pouch, there is no reason to wait that long.

I'm terrible at tracking on the weekend.  Needless to say, I've got nothing written down today.  However, I've got my workday (M-Th) meals all packed which cover breakfast through afternoon snack and each day's total without dinner is:

1081 calories
113g protein

I think that leaves me plenty of room to have a healthy dinner.
