Frustrated

I have been trying to register for the informational session with the group of surgeons that takes my insurance. I can't even get the people that do the scheduling to call me back. The session is on December 12th. The receptionist at the office has been more than helpful. It is the facility that I would have the surgery done at that is not very good about returning phone calls. All I ever get there is the answering machine. I would wait for the next one except that I am supposed to have hernia surgery on December 27th and I want to find out if the WLS surgeon could do both at the same time. I really would rather not have to have 2 different surgeries if I don't have to. The next session isn't until January. Thank you for letting me vent. I hope you all have a great night.

Do they have a website? A lot of times you can do the scheduling through their website and it's much easier. You may want to check that out. Good Luck

I registered through a website as well. I would be very surprised if you could get the surgery that fast though. I know everyone's surgeon is different, but I had a lot of tests to complete ahead of time. I went pretty fast and it took me about 5 months to get a date.

Good luck though!

I think that you are being optimistic about having both done at the same time. My RNY took 3 months to happen and that was considered fast by my standards. Take it slow and easy and first things first. Follow up with the WLS surgeon and get an appointment - the hernia surgery will probably happen sooner rather than later. Good luck.

I am not thinking that I will be able to have WLS by December 27th. The surgeon for my hernia didn't say that it had to be taken care of right away. He actually left it up to me if I wanted to have it done before the end of the year. I told him that I was considering WLS also and he asked how soon I would be having that surgery. Right now, I am just looking into the option of postponing the hernia surgery and having them done together so that I won't have to have 2 surgeries. If the wait looks like it is going to be too long, I will go ahead with the hernia surgery at the end of the month. The only trouble I have had from the hernia is when I was sick and coughing all the time. Otherwise, I wouldn't have even known I had it. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

I did try to register online and their website doesn't let me. Oh, well. I am not giving up. God's delay is not God's denial.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful night.
